The present invention relates to ergonomic supports in medical environment. In order to provide improved ergonomic support while providing a minimum impact of the user's activities, an ergonomic support device (10) for users in medical environment is provided. The support device comprises a seating support arrangement (14), an X-ray shielding arrangement (18) and a base support structure (12). The base support structure provides mechanical support for the seating support arrangement and the X-ray shielding arrangement. The seating support arrangement comprises a seat support surface (16) that is configured for supporting a buttocks area of a user. The X-ray shielding arrangement comprises at least one X-ray shield (20) that is configured for shielding at least a part of an X-ray radiation to which a user is exposed to while supported by the support surface. The at least one X-ray shield is movably mounted to the base support structure to be adjustable in its position relative to a user at least partly resting on the seat support surface.

Chair

A chair includes a seat (2) and also includes a pair of thigh support elements (17) pivotal n a generally downwardly direction about front pivot axes (20) from a first state forming with a central seat element (15) a substantially common plane, to a second downwardly extending state. The elements (17) are also pivotal about second pivot axes in a generally rearwardly direction for urging the user's thighs away from each other for stretching the adductor muscles. Foot support members (49) extend transversely and sidewardly on respective opposite sides of the chair (1) from a support element (46) for supporting the foot during a stretching exercise with the corresponding thigh of the subject extending downwardly from the seat (14) and the lower leg extending from the knee in a upwardly inclined direction to the foot support member (49) for stretching the quadriceps and the hip flexor muscles of the subject.

A seat apparatus includes a base having a central ridge structure on the top of the base. The central ridge structure is round on the top and slopes downward from front to back. A secondary ridge structure may be included on top of the central ridge structure. Using the seat apparatus, a person with a hemorrhoid condition can sit on the seat apparatus, and using their own body weight, create pressure between the affected area and the central ridge structure. The pressure bias the hemorrhoid to be repositioned in the user's body, relieving discomfort and, with long term use, can improve sphincter control to better prevent hemorrhoid conditions.
