An injection mold for rotary-type gravity casting and a gravity casting method using the same are provided. The injection mold includes a molten metal-supply chamber that is selectively coupled to a die. The molten metal-supply chamber is also configured to, during gravity casting along with rotation, supply a pure molten metal into the die while collecting impurities contained in the molten metal and preventing the ingress of the impurities into the die.

Arc melting and tilt casting apparatus

An arc melting and tilt casting apparatus having a casing provided with a vacuum chamber for housing a hearth having a melting trough and pouring means, arc-melting electrode means passing through the casing in the chamber, a mold having a melt receiving orifice, vacuum generating means, sealing means for maintaining the vacuum in the chamber and tilting means for tilting the apparatus to cause the melt to flow from the melting trough via the pouring means in the mold through the mold orifice. The hearth and mold are connected together and moveable as a single unit in the vacuum chamber and out from the chamber.

Method for casting cast parts from a molten metal

A casting mold is pivoted about a horizontal pivot axis for casting cast parts in a casting machine. The casting mold has a lid and a reference side wall. A main plane is placed into the reference side wall. A tundish is coupled to the casting mold and the casting mold is then pivoted into a pouring-in position. The tundish filled with a molten metal portion is pivoted with the casting mold about the pivot axis, so that the molten metal flows into the casting mold. An angle 1 enclosed between the main plane of the reference side wall and a bath level of the molten metal portion in the tundish is constantly <180 until the melt hits the bottom of the casting mold.
