SPHERICAL GRAPHITE CAST IRON SEMI-SOLID CASTING METHOD AND SEMI-SOLID CAST PRODUCT
The present invention provides a casting method and cast product of spherical graphite cast iron, in which, even with a small modulus, there is no chill, the spherical graphite in the tissue is further made ultrafine, the dispersion of the particle diameter is small, and the number of the particles is several times that of the conventional one in the as cast state where heat treatment is not carried out.
A casting method of a spherical graphite cast iron comprised from, a melting process, a spheroidizing treatment process, an inoculation process, and a casting process, in which the original molten metal after the inoculation process is poured and filled up to a product space through a gate of a metal mold; wherein the original molten metal before being filled up to the product space is controlled to a semi-solidification temperature range. An amount of nitrogen at the time of melting of the (cast iron?) is controlled to 0.9 ppm (mass) or less. The casting process is carried out by controlling the pouring temperature and the heat removal amount from the molten metal so that the temperature of the raw material when passing through the gate becomes a substantially constant temperature between an eutectic temperature and a liquidus temperature.
ULTRA-STRONG ALUMINUM ALLOYS FOR AMBIENT AND HIGH-TEMPERATURE APPLICATIONS
This invention discloses a series of low-cost, castable, weldable, brazeable and heat-treatable aluminum alloys based on modifications of aluminum-manganese-based alloys, which turn all the non-heat treatable Mn-containing aluminum alloys into heat treatable alloys with high-strength, ductility, thermal stability, and resistance to creep, coarsening and recrystallization. These alloys inherit the excellent corrosion resistance of the Al—Mn-based alloys and can be utilized in high temperature, high stress and a variety of other applications. The modifications are made through microalloying with one or any combinations of tin, indium, antimony and bismuth at an impurity level of less than 0.02 at. %, which creates nanoscale α-Al(Mn,TM)Si precipitates with a cubic structure (wherein TM is one or more of transition metals, and Mn is the main element) in an Al(f.c.c.)-matrix with a mean radius of about 25 nm and a relatively high volume fraction of about 2%.
DIRECTIONALLY SOLIDIFIED HIGH-BORON AND HIGH-VANADIUM HIGH-SPEED STEEL AND METHOD FOR PREPARING SAME
Disclosed are a high-boron high-vanadium high-speed steel and a method for preparing the same. Pig iron, scrap steel, ferrochromium, ferromanganese, ferroboron, ferrovanadium, industrial pure iron, ferromolybdenum, ferrotungsten, ferrosilicon and ferrotitanium are subjected to smelting at 1580-1600° C. and refining to obtain a liquid steel. The liquid steel is subjected to superheating, and directional solidification at a casting temperature of 1420-1430° C., and cooled to room temperature to obtain the directionally solidified high-speed steel.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A BALANCE WHEEL FOR A TIMEPIECE
A process for producing a metal alloy balance wheel by molding includes a) making a mold in the negative shape of the balance wheel; b) obtaining a metal alloy that has a thermal expansion coefficient of less than 25 ppm/° C. and is able to be in an at least partly amorphous state when it is heated to a temperature between its glass transition temperature and its crystallization temperature; c) putting the metal alloy into the mold, the metal alloy being heated to a temperature between its glass transition temperature and its crystallization temperature so as to be hot-molded and to form a balance wheel; d) cooling the metal alloy to obtain a balance wheel made of the metal alloy; and e) releasing the balance wheel obtained in step d) from its mold. The process also includes a step for over-molding flexible centering components in the hub.
