A workpiece processing assembly with multiple working operations includes a working platform, a first positioning device disposed thereon, a second positioning device situated relative to the first positioning device, a first turning device situated beside the first positioning device, a second turning device situated beside the second positioning device, and a controlling device. The turning devices each are equipped with at least two processing tools. A first transverse slide rail disposed on the working platform serves to adjust the distance between the positioning devices, thereby clamping at least one workpiece firmly. Two longitudinal slide rails respectively disposed on the working platform serve to adjust the distance between each turning device and each corresponding positioning device, thereby moving the processing tools to a proper processing position. Thus, the inconvenience caused by replacing the processing tools during the turning process is prevented, and the processing efficiency is greatly increased.

One or more aspects of the present disclosure provide articles of manufacture and components of articles that incorporate an optical element that imparts structural color to the component or the article. The component comprises a cured or curable material, and can include or be made to have a textured surface.

MACHINE TOOL AND DETECTION METHOD

A machine tool (1) includes: a front spindle (10) having a front chuck (12); a rear spindle (20) having a rear chuck (22); a controller (50) configured to cause the rear chuck (22) to perform a fastening operation for fastening a work (W) fastened to the front chuck (12) to the rear chuck (22); and a detector (60) configured to detect an abnormality caused by the fastening operation by the rear chuck (22), based on measurement data associated with a vibration of at least one of the front chuck (12) and the rear chuck (22).

Friction welding method and machine tool

Disclosed is a friction welding method including: a heating step wherein, in relation to joining surfaces (S1, S2) defined by opposite end surfaces of a pair of materials (W1, W2), the pair of materials (W1, W2) are moved from a state in which their axes are unaligned with each other, in a direction for aligning the respective axes with each other, to a prescribed position where the joining surfaces (S1, S2) are brought into contact with each other and friction heated; and a pressure contacting step wherein the pair of materials are brought into pressure contact with each other. The method is characterized in that the heating step and the pressure contacting step are carried out while rotating each of the materials (W1, W2) at the same rotation speed in the same direction, as seen from one side in the axial direction.
