The present bed bumper apparatus includes an elongate body that is resilient and flexible, an inner cover enclosing an entirety of the elongate body such that the elongate body is removable from the inner cover only by destroying an integrity of the inner cover, an outer cover enclosing an entirety of the inner cover having the elongate body, and a flexible strap engaged to the outer cover and having a quick release buckle and length adjuster such that the bed bumper can be engaged to a mattress at an edge of the mattress to minimize a person from rolling off the mattress.

A bed ladder configured to be installed on a bed frame comprises an upper frame transverse bar and a lower frame transverse bar, and the upper frame transverse bar and the lower frame transverse bar are parallel to each other and located on a vertical plane. The bed ladder comprises two handrails symmetrically arranged in a left-and-right direction and a plurality of step bars connected to the two handrails, and the bed ladder is vertically arranged. The upper frame transverse bar and the lower frame transverse bar cooperate with each other to clamp the bed ladder to inhibit movement of the bed ladder in a vertical direction, and an upper end of each of the two handrails is connected to the upper frame transverse bar in an inserted manner. A lower end of each of the two handrails is connected to the lower frame transverse bar in an inserted manner.

A horizontally expandable bed rail having a guard rail frame that confronts a first side of a bed to prevent a child from falling out of the bed. The guard rail frame includes a pair of vertical support members interconnected by upper, lower and intermediate horizontal support members that slide horizontally in and out such that the vertical support members have an extended position where the vertical support members are spaced apart by a first distance and a drawn in position where the vertical support members are spaced apart by a second distance that is less than the first distance.

A horizontally expandable bed rail having a guard rail frame that confronts a first side of a bed to prevent a child from falling out of the bed. The guard rail frame includes a pair of vertical support members interconnected by upper, lower and intermediate horizontal support members that slide horizontally in and out such that the vertical support members have an extended position where the vertical support members are spaced apart by a first distance and a drawn in position where the vertical support members are spaced apart by a second distance that is less than the first distance.

A patient assist handle includes an outer frame member, an inner frame member positioned within the outer frame member, a support post connected to the outer frame member, the support post having a first end and an opposing second end, a rotation actuator provided on the first end of the support post, the rotation actuator allowing rotation of the patient assist handle about a first rotation axis, and a release mechanism provided on the second end of the support post, the release mechanism allowing rotation of the patient assist handle about a second rotation axis.

A convertible bed bumper apparatus includes first and second elongate members each including a flat side extending between opposing first and second flat ends; a first fastening element at the first flat end of the first elongate member and a second fastening element at the first flat end of the second elongate member; the first and second elongate members being integrally joined together adjacent the respective flat sides of the respective first flat ends; the first and second elongate members being selectively operable between a stowed configuration, wherein the respective flat sides of the first and second elongate members are brought into congruent abutment, and an operational configuration, wherein the respective first flat ends of the first and second elongate members are brought into congruent abutment; the first and second fastening elements being sized and configured for engagement when the first and second elongate members are in the operational configuration.

A convertible bed bumper apparatus includes first and second elongate members each including a flat side extending between opposing first and second flat ends; a first fastening element at the first flat end of the first elongate member and a second fastening element at the first flat end of the second elongate member; the first and second elongate members being integrally joined together adjacent the respective flat sides of the respective first flat ends; the first and second elongate members being selectively operable between a stowed configuration, wherein the respective flat sides of the first and second elongate members are brought into congruent abutment, and an operational configuration, wherein the respective first flat ends of the first and second elongate members are brought into congruent abutment; the first and second fastening elements being sized and configured for engagement when the first and second elongate members are in the operational configuration.

A mattress includes pairs of side rails having an expandable section for increasing the side support of a user. The expandable section may be inflatable or receive an insert. The structural strength of the side rails may alternately support the user and collapse to allow the user to be easily lifted over the side rail. In open cell foam embodiments, this is accomplished by installing or removing an interior support. In inflatable embodiments, this is accomplished by inflating or deflating expandable compartments.

A mattress includes pairs of side rails having an expandable section for increasing the side support of a user. The expandable section may be inflatable or receive an insert. The structural strength of the side rails may alternately support the user and collapse to allow the user to be easily lifted over the side rail. In open cell foam embodiments, this is accomplished by installing or removing an interior support. In inflatable embodiments, this is accomplished by inflating or deflating expandable compartments.

A bedside support structure including a support assembly and a base assembly is disclosed herein. The support assembly includes a cushioned portion and a support structure. The base assembly includes an outer base and an inner base portion. The inner base portion is adjustable from the outer base portion such that a user may configure the height of the bedside support structure. The base assembly further includes an elongated arm that is pivotably mounted to one end of the outer base. The other end of the elongated arm is pivotably mounted to the opposite end of the support structure. The pivot configuration allows a user to adjust the height of the support structure as needed to fit the height of the bed of an individual. The bedside support structure provides a structural support for users of limited mobility to aid the users in sitting beside a bed.
