Cutting tool for a large diameter travelling pipe cutter

A cutting tool to cut a hollow vessel includes a conical member, a plurality of grooves, and a plurality of cutting members. The plurality of grooves are disposed in a semi-helix around an outer conical surface of the conical member. Each of the plurality of cutting members is disposed in fixed position within one of the plurality of grooves at a non-zero angle relative to a vertical axis.

Piston crown having conical valve pocket

A piston has a piston crown and a top land extending circumferentially around the piston crown, as well as a combustion bowl and at least one valve pocket machined therein. The valve pocket has a side wall and a bottom, and wherein the side wall extends at an angle of between 110 and 120 from the bottom. A method for forming such valve pockets in the piston crown includes machining the valve pockets with a rotating cutter having an inverted frustoconical shape such that an angle between a bottom of the cutter and a side wall of the cutter amounts to between 110 and 120.

In an example, a method for milling a sink is disclosed. The method includes receiving a metal sheet, positioning the metal sheet in a receiving assembly for a milling machine, and scoring the metal sheet via a cutter of the milling machine. The metal sheet is scored along an axis corresponding to a bend of the sink. The method also includes manipulating the metal sheet to form the sink.

Holder for head replacement-type cutting tool and head replacement-type cutting tool

The holder for a head replacement-type cutting tool is provided with a holder main body and a tubular coupling member 3 which is housed in an attachment hole formed on the holder main body and made of a metal material lower in hardness than the holder main body. A recessed part is formed on an inner circumferential face of the attachment hole, the coupling member is engaged with the recessed part by firmly attaching the outer circumferential face thereof on the inner circumferential face of the attachment hole, and the coupling member is provided with an attachment screw part which is screwed into a head-side screw part formed at the replacement-type cutting head.

End milling cutter for heat-resistant superalloys

An end milling cutter for heat-resistant superalloys (HRSA) has a shank and a cutting head, which have a common rotation axis, the shank having a connection section for connection to the cutting head and a coupling section for connection to a tool holder, the cutting head consisting of a solid ceramic part, which has a rotationally symmetrical envelope and is butt-joined to an end face of the connection section. In order to keep excessive vibrations and thus stresses low in the interface between the cutting head and the connection section of the milling cutter and to create milling cutters that can also cover the diameter range above 12 mm and in particular above 20 mm and up to 32 mm, the coupling section has a conical peg having an external thread.
