The chip removal channel is outwardly closed at least over a longitudinal section by an outer chip space wall adjoining the core.

MACHINE REAMING TOOL, CUTTING INSERT AND BASE BODY FOR RECEIVING CUTTING INSERTS
20210187641 · 2021-06-24 ·

A machine reaming tool includes a base body with a plurality of insert receivers with cutting inserts that are inserted therein. The cutting inserts are inserted into insert receivers that each form a linear guide of the cutting inserts in a direction orthogonal to a rotation axis of the machine reaming tool. The linear guide is a prismatic sliding guide such as a dovetail guide. In particular, the dovetail guide is designed asymmetrically.

A rotary tool for machining workpieces, said tool comprising a base body having a clamping section and a tool head comprising a cutting region having at least one cutting edge. The tool head comprises at least one coolant channel for supplying a cooling and/or lubricating fluid into the cutting region. At least some sections of the coolant channel have a cross-section that tapers in the direction of the tool head. In this region, at least two coolant outlet lines branch off from contact points of the coolant channel in the direction of the tool head upper surface, and are offset in the axial longitudinal direction of the coolant channel. Also, a production method for a rotary tool, in which the blank of the tool is produced by a sintering method in which the coolant channel of the tool is formed integrally in the sintering method at the same time.

Metal-cutting tool, in particular a reaming tool and method of making the same

A reaming tool includes a tool body having an axially rearward shank portion and an axially forward cutting portion, the forward cutting portion having at least one peripherally arranged cutting insert. The reaming tool also includes an inlet coolant channel formed in the tool body and an inlet opening at an axially rearward end of the shank portion. An outlet coolant channel is formed in the tool body and is in fluid communication with the inlet coolant channel, wherein the outlet coolant channel defines an outlet opening proximate to the cutting insert. In one particular aspect, at least a portion of the outlet coolant channel is non-linear. A method of making a component of the reaming tool by performing a printing operation on a substrate to form the component is also provided.

OIL HOLE REAMER

An oil hole reamer includes an oil passage extending inside a tool main body along an axis of the tool main body, and an oil hole extending radially outward from the oil passage to an outer circumference of the tool main body. An oil outlet of the oil hole is formed to be open toward a position corresponding to a corner at which a tip cutting edge intersects an outer-circumference cutting edge and to cause at least part of the oil outlet to be open to the outer-circumference flank face.

LIGHTWEIGHT CUTTING TOOL

A lightweight cutting tool, such as a reamer, includes a front cutting body, a front cutting ring, a center tube, a rear cutting ring and a rear machine connection member. An arm assembly of the front and rear cutting heads includes one or more leading arms, one or more trailing arms and a cutting head supported by the leading and trailing arms. The leading arms and the trailing arms curve in opposite directions. To reduce weight and moment of inertia of the reamer, a cross-sectional area of the leading arms and the trailing arms is largest proximate the sleeve member and is smallest proximate the cutting head. In addition, the front cutting body, the front and rear cutting rings and the center tube may be made by additive manufacturing. Fluid can be transported entirely through the reamer to the cutting insert/workpiece interface and the guide pad/workpiece interface.

Taper reamer

Provided is a taper reamer with which it is possible to achieve an improvement in machining accuracy and machining life. The taper reamer comprises a plurality of cutting edges each having a helical shape provided on the outer periphery of a cutting-edge portion having an external diameter being expanded from a front end toward a rear end thereof, wherein an intertooth angle, defined between each of a pair of the cutting edges adjacently arranged in a circumferential direction, is different from one another at any given reference position, and wherein the plurality of cutting edges each have a helix angle that is different from one another. As the plurality of cutting edges that are unequally partitioned each have the helix angle that is different from one another, a resonance during cutting can be prevented.
