Multi-electrode submerged arc welding method
A multi-electrode submerged arc welding method enables, in multi-electrode submerged arc welding using five or six electrodes, a deep penetration and a large amount of deposit metal to be obtained by supplying a large current, and enables stable arc to be generated by respective electrodes by suppressing magnetic interference. Welding defects can be prevented, beads with a good shape or appearance can be obtained, and the welding speed can be increased.
Material processing through optically transmissive slag
A process for growing a substrate (24) as a melt pool (28) solidifies beneath a molten slag layer (30). An energy beam (36) is used to melt a powder (32) or a hollow feed wire (42) with a powdered alloy core (44) under the slag layer. The slag layer is at least partially transparent (37) to the energy beam, and it may be partially optically absorbent or translucent to the energy beam to absorb enough energy to remain molten. As with a conventional ESW process, the slag layer insulates the molten material and shields it from reaction with air. A composition of the powder may be changed across a solidification axis (A) of the resulting component (60) to provide a functionally graded directionally solidified product.

ELECTRIC MELTING METHOD FOR FORMING CYLINDER OF PRESSURE VESSEL OF NUCLEAR POWER STATION
An electric melting method for forming a cylinder of a pressure vessel of nuclear power station, in which an electric melting head and a base material are connected to the anode and cathode of a power supply respectively. During the forming of a metal component, the raw metal wire is sent to a surface of the base material by a feeder and the electric melting head to create the electric arc between the raw wire and the base material, wherein the electric arc melts certain of deposited auxiliary material and crates a molten slag pool; a current creates the resistance heat and the electroslag heat; the raw wire is molten under the high-energy heat resource composed of the electric arc heat, the resistance heat and the electroslag heat, and creates a molten pool on partial surface of the base material.
ELECTRIC MELTING METHOD FOR FORMING METAL COMPONENTS
An electric melting method for forming metal components provides an electric melting head (6) and a base material (2) being connected to the anode and the cathode of a power supply (12). During the forming of the component, the raw metal wire (1) is sent to the base material (2) and the electric melting head (6) to generate electric arc (9) between the raw wire (1) and the base material (2). The electric arc melts a part of the deposited auxiliary material (3) and creates a molten slag pool (8). Electric current generates the resistance heat and the electroslag heat. The raw wire (1) is molten under the high-energy heat resource composed of the electric arc heat, the resistance heat and the electroslag heat, and thereby creating a molten pool (11) on partial surface of the base material (2).
Welding electrode wires having alkaline earth metals
The disclosed technology generally relates to welding, and more particularly to a consumable welding wire for metal arc welding, and a method and a system for metal arc welding using the consumable welding wire. In one aspect, a method of arc welding includes providing a welding wire comprising one or more alkaline earth metal elements. The method additionally includes applying power to the welding wire to generate a plasma arc sufficient to melt the welding wire. The method further includes depositing molten droplets formed by melting the welding wire onto a workpiece at a high deposition rate while regulating to maintain a substantially constant power delivered to the plasma arc.
Submerged arc welding method for steel plate
The present invention provides a submerged arc welding method attempting to enhance toughness of a welded zone with low heat input and capable of achieving deep penetration and a sufficiently wide bead width in welding a thick material at a weld speed of 3 m/min or less. In the submerged arc welding method, a first electrode at the head in a welding direction has a wire diameter of 3.9 to 4.1 mm, two electrodes are arranged on both sides holding a weld line therebetween at the tail end in the welding direction, the wire tip positions of the two electrodes on a surface of the steel plate are arranged on the same line vertical to the weld line, and a distance W (mm) between each of the wire tip positions and the weld line is 5 to 20 mm.
