STUD WELDING PROCESS AND STUD WELDING DEVICE FOR WELDING A STUD TO A WORKPIECE
20220152722 · 2022-05-19 ·

A stud welding process and a stud welding device for welding a stud to a workpiece are provided, wherein an arc (LB) is generated between the surface of the stud that faces the workpiece and the workpiece by using a pulsed welding current (Is), and the arc (LB) is deflected by means of a magnetic field which is generated by a coil through which a current (I.sub.A) flows. The current (I.sub.A) through the coil for generating the magnetic field for deflecting the arc (LB) is activated synchronously and in anti-phase with the welding current (I.sub.s) by a current (I.sub.A) always being applied to the coil when the welding current (I.sub.s) is at a minimum, and the coil being switched off or the current (I.sub.A) through the coil being reduced to a minimum when the welding current (I.sub.s) is at a maximum.

Stud Welding Ferrule and Apparatus

A system for automatically identifying one or more welding site locations on a surface of a target metal marked with a plurality of welding site candidates, includes an imager configured to acquire an image of the surface of the target metal, wherein the acquired image includes a plurality of pixels each having a corresponding intensity value; and a processing circuit configured to: compare each intensity value to an intensity threshold, identify a plurality of pixel clusters, wherein each pixel cluster is made up of contiguous pixels that have intensity values that are equal to or greater than the intensity threshold, for each pixel cluster, determine whether a total pixel area of the pixel cluster is less than a threshold pixel area, and remove any pixel cluster from consideration as a welding site location if the total pixel area of the pixel cluster is less than the threshold pixel area.

CONCRETE WALL FRAME ASSEMBLY AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
20220145619 · 2022-05-12 ·

A concrete wall frame assembly and a method of manufacturing same is disclosed. The assembly includes two generally parallel metal plates and at least one rod extending between a first end and a second end. A first end of the rod is passed through a hole in the second plate toward the first plate until the first end engages a continuous inner surface of the first plate. The second end of the rod protrudes through the hole and extends past an outer surface of the second plate. A stud welder is connected to the either the second, protruding end of the rod, or connected to the rod between the two metal plates to stud weld the first rod end to the inner surface of the first plate. The second end of the rod is then arc welded to the second metal plate at the outer surface.

Pin spotting system with modular welding source

The modular pin spotting system described herein allows a common welding source to be utilized with both hand held pinspotters and fixed pinspotters. This allows the operator to choose the mode of operation for the welding source based on operator needs. In some aspects, the pin spotting system includes a mobile welding source, a ground handpiece, a handheld pinspotter apparatus, and a fixed pinspotter apparatus. The welding source is removably attachable to either of the hand held pinspotter apparatus and fixed pinspotter apparatus and configured to supply welding energy to the attached pinspotter apparatus. Each of the hand held and fixed pinspotter apparatus are configured to energize the mobile welding source to supply welding energy to a weld pin positioned against a sheet metal surface to affix the weld pin to the sheet metal surface through welding.

LIGHT-PROJECTING OF INSTALLATION-LOCATION PATTERNS ONTO INSTALLATION SURFACES

A light module projects multiple light beams onto an installation surface to form multiple light indicia spaced apart in a pattern on the installation surface, with the light indicia identifying installation locations on the installation surface where construction mounts are then installed. Embodiments include systems in which the light module includes a light emitter that projects a source light beam and a diffractor that diffuses the source light beam into the multiple light beams, systems in which the light module is adjustably mounted to and movable with a handheld tool used to install the construction mounts, systems in which the light module is adjustably mounted to a static-use support, and methods of using these systems to install the construction mounts.
