Glueless pocketed spring unit construction
Methods and systems for no-glue pocketed spring unit construction. Rows of pocketed springs, preferably arranged into modules of more than two pocketed springs surrounding a central hole, are ultrasonically welded together when paired vibrating probes and anvils press layers of pocketed spring fabric from the rows of pocketed springs together and a welding pulse is transmitted to the vibrating probe.
METHOD OF CONNECTING A WIRE TO A FEEDTHROUGH
One aspect relates to a feedthrough system. The feedthrough system includes a feedthrough and a wire. At least a portion of the feedthrough is made of an insulator and at least one area forming an electrically conductive cermet pathway. The cermet pathway may include an electrically conductive metal. The wire may be at least partially connected to the cermet pathway so that the material of the wire forms a joint microstructure with the electrically conductive material in the cermet pathway.
METHOD OF MONITORING OF RESISTANCE WELDING QUALITY OF NUCLEAR FUEL ROD
A method of monitoring in real time pressure resistance welding of a cladding tube and an end plug. The method includes: a first step of detecting welding information including voltage, current, and welding force in a process of pressure resistance welding of a cladding tube and an end plug; a second step of comparing static factors obtained by calculating effective values for the welding information with predetermined reference values, respectively; a third step of calculating dynamic factors for the welding information including the gradient of instantaneous welding force, when the reference values are satisfied in the second step; and a fourth step of determining whether there is defect or not in welding quality by comparing the dynamic factors.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RESISTANCE WELDING OF STEEL SANDWICH SHEETS
A method for resistance welding a metallic component to a sandwich metal sheet with a thermoplastic layer disposed between two metallic cover layers may involve heating a region of the sandwich metal sheet to be welded such that the thermoplastic layer softens, displacing the thermoplastic layer from the region by compressing the cover layers, and welding the cover layers with the metallic component by means of a flow of electrical current in a first circuit via a first welding electrode disposed on a side of the sandwich metal sheet and a second welding electrode disposed on a side of the metallic component. The method for resistance welding has short cycle times, and a compact design and a process-reliable welded connection can be achieved. The method may further involve heating the region to be welded by a flow of current in a second circuit comprising the first welding electrode and an electrical conductor disposed between the first welding electrode and the sandwich metal sheet.”
ELECTRICAL BONDING METHOD AND ELECTRICAL BONDING APPARATUS
To bond bonding target members stacked on top of each other without generating dust or spatter into an electrically bonded article with improved mechanical strength against strong vibration etc. A first bonding target member or second bonding target member includes a relative displacement amount setting portion for setting the distance by which the bonding target portion of the first member and the bonding target portion of the second member are relatively displaced during bonding, and a current conduction suppressing layer is formed on the relative displacement amount setting portion. The second or first member includes a setting face that is placed opposed to the current conduction suppressing layer of the first or second member. In a state where the first and second members have been positioned, the distance between the current conduction suppressing layer and the setting face is equal to the width H of the bonded portion.
SPOT WELDING PROCESS WITH METALLIC ADDITION
A spot welding process which uses a metal insert as an insert between the sheets to be welded which belongs to the field of industrial welding, in order to prevent the presence of mark or indentation on the surface of the welds. After the welding process, as the metal insert material melts and dissolves between the overlapped sheets, the state of the art does not provide for the use of metal insert as an insert between the sheets, the spot welding process with insert between (2), made of metal powder or solid metal, which is introduced between the interfaces of the sheets (3) to be welded by the spot welding process, the insert (2) (3), by inert adhesive (4) or other material and process which performs this function, wherein during the melting process the metal insert (2) melts and dilutes together with the base material, i.e. the opposing metal plates (3). The alloy of the metallic insert (2) has chemical and physical properties compatible with the properties of the base metal sheets (3), the spot welding equipment requires that its contact electrodes (5) have the fully flat surfaces (6) and Or special contact geometry.
BONDED ARTICLE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING BONDED ARTICLE
A method for manufacturing a bonded article having long bonding length and high strength. A first bonding target member and a second bonding target member having a hole portion for receiving the first member are provided. Pressing force is applied between the two members with the first member received in the hole portion, and a current is applied to a bonding target portion between the two members with the pressing force applied. The two members are of materials with different melting points. One of the two members, having lower melting point, has a heat capacity increasing portion in the vicinity of the target portion. The one of the members has a taper face at the target portion, and the heat capacity increasing portion has a face extending from the taper face. The force applying step is performed with the other member positioned not to contact the heat capacity increasing portion.
Electric resistance welded steel pipe
An electric resistance welded steel pipe which has sufficient strength and low-temperature toughness and a low yield ratio and which is suitable as a line pipe to be laid in depths of the sea, characterized in that: the composition of the base material contains, in mass %, 0.05 to 0.10% of C, 1.00 to 1.60% of Mn, and 0.005 to less than 0.035% of Nb, and has a Ceq value of 0.23 to 0.38; and the metal microstructure of the base material contains 3 to 13% of martensite in area fraction with the balance being ferrite.
Method of direct resistance welding—self brazing of aluminum to molybdenum pin
A direct welding process for joining a current collector to a terminal pin in the construction of electrochemical cells is described. The resistance welding process utilizes increased current combined with an applied force to bond dissimilar metals with a melting temperature differential of preferably more than 500° C. Preferably, the method is used to bond the terminal pin to the cathode current collector. This method of attachment is suitable for either primary or secondary cells, particularly those powering implantable biomedical devices.
