System and method with floating welder for high rate production welding
A securing system, such as a welding system, includes a robot configured to transfer a part to a home position. A securing station has a frame and a gun supported on the frame. The gun includes first and second members movable relative to one another, which are first and second weld gun electrodes, for example. The gun is configured to secure a component to the part in a securing position during a securing operation. A float assembly interconnects the gun to the frame and is configured to permit the gun to glide relative to the welding frame between the home position and the securing position. A homing assembly includes a homing guide configured to release the welding gun from the home position during the securing operation, such as resistance welding fasteners to sheet metal workpieces.

PROJECTION WELDING MACHINE
The present disclosure relates to a projection welding machine, and more particularly, to a projection welding machine for avoiding an accident in which an operator's hand gets caught between an upper electrode unit and a lower electrode unit, and preventing a fault in welding operation from occurring due to incorrect seating of a nut on the lower electrode unit.

A resistance welding device, comprising a frame for supporting a tool configured like a clamp with two arms arranged facing one another and having respective welding electrodes, of which a first arm is integral to the clamp and the second arm is assembled with the capacity of being moved with respect to the clamp by means of a first actuator, such that respective movements along a straight trajectory can be imparted to the arms of the clamp for moving their electrodes closer to or away from one another. One of the arms has a hollow head housing the corresponding electrode in a guided manner the tip of which is suitable for receiving the support of a component to be welded on the workpiece, the head and the electrode being able to adopt at least one standby position (A) in which the electrode is inside the mentioned head; and a working position (B), in which the tip of the electrode is arranged in or exceeds the inlet of the head, accordingly placing the component to be welded outside the head.
RESISTANCE WELDING OF UNWELDABLE METALS WITH THERMAL SPRAYED INTERLAYERS
A method for joining of at least two materials, non-weldable directly to each other with thermal joining processes in a lap joint configuration includes a two step sequence including a first step to apply a thermomechanical or mechanical surface protection layer on the surface of a (stainless) steel substrate and a second step where, a thermal joining process is used to weld the sprayed layer with an applied aluminum sheet without having brittle intermetallic phases in the whole material configuration.

A component loading-welding system for welding a component panel to a vehicle body panel includes a rotation portion body having first and second opposing sides. The first opposing side is coupled to a robot arm. A picking device is installed in the rotation portion body and is configured to hold and release the component panel. A vehicle body pressurizing tip is installed in the rotation portion body. A pressurizing portion body is rotatably installed at the second opposing side of the rotation portion body. A pin clamp is installed in the pressurizing portion body and is configured to clamp the component panel. A component pressurizing tip is installed in the pressurizing portion body and is configured to apply pressure to the component panel. A multi point projection welding method is also disclosed.
Position sensing a location pin in a welding electrode
An apparatus includes a housing, a pin, a mechanism and a sensor. The housing is configured to receive a weld head. The pin is configured to move linearly relative to said housing. The mechanism is configured to convert a position of said pin into a displacement. The sensor is configured to generate a value representative of said position of said pin based on said displacement.
COMPONENT SUPPLY DEVICE
A component supply device is configured to feed a component having a through hole to a target position. The component supply includes: a rod including at its distal end a holding portion to be inserted into the through hole; an actuator; a valve mounted on the rod; and a fixing portion by which the valve that advances with the rod passes. The rod includes a gas outlet located in an outer periphery of the holding portion and configured to blow gas rearward, and a gas passage extending inside the rod and configured to send gas supplied from a gas source to the gas outlet. The valve includes a push switch configured to be switched between an advanced attitude and a withdrawn attitude, and a biasing unit configured to bias the push switch to the withdrawn attitude. The fixing portion includes a pressing wall portion facing the push switch.
