CUTTING EDGE MACHINING APPARATUS AND CUTTING APPARATUS
A first optical member including a reflection mirror and a lens forms a first optical path of laser light. A second optical member including a reflection mirror, a lens, and a reflection mirror forms a second optical path of laser light. A motion mechanism moves a cutting edge of a cutting part relative to the first optical path and the second optical path. A controller causes the motion mechanism to move the cutting edge relative to the first optical path to machine a flank face of the cutting edge with laser light passing through the first optical path. The controller further causes the motion mechanism to move the cutting edge relative to the second optical path to machine a rake face of the cutting edge with laser light passing through the second optical path.
ANCHORING ASSEMBLY FOR ANCHORING A LINER OF A CURED LINING MATERIAL, A FERRULE SUITABLE FOR USE WITH THE ANCHORING ASSEMBLY, AN ANCHORING MOUNTING ASSEMBLY FURTHER COMPRISING A FERRULE HOLDER AND THE USE OF THE ANCHORING ASSEMBLY
An anchoring assembly for anchoring a liner of a cured lining material arranged to be applied in liquid form to a metal object provided with the anchoring assembly, the anchoring assembly including an elongated mounting pin and a ferrule provided at a first end thereof, wherein the pin is arranged to be mounted at the first end to the metal object, the anchoring assembly further including a plurality of spaced anchor fins connected to the pin at a second end and extending radially outward relative to the pin, wherein the ferrule includes a radially outwardly extending place holder part arranged to be held by a ferrule holder during mounting of the pin at the first end to the metal object.
TOOL MANUFACTURING METHOD
A method for manufacturing hand tools, such as wrenches. The method generally includes the steps of providing a flat stock, cutting the flat stock into the desired two-dimension blank using a laser, and three-dimensionally machining the laser-cut 2D blank into the desired three-dimensional workpiece. The tool may undergo a heating treatment process and a surface treatment process. In the context of a wrench, the blank may be laser cut with a laser beam oriented to cut generally perpendicularly to the plane of the flat stock. After laser cutting, the handle and interface region between the handle and jaw(s) are machined to provide the desired three-dimensional shape. For example, the three-dimensional shape may be selected to provide a comfortable grip even when applying a high level of force. The wrench jaw may have an optimized geometry calculated so that there is no excess material or “over-designed” regions of the jaw. The wrench jaw has internal corners with optimized radii.

Super charger components
A pulley assembly having a body, a shaft mount and a plurality of bolts is disclosed. The body is aligned to the shaft mount by providing a tight tolerance between a shoulder portion of the bolt and a neck portion of a counter sunk hole formed in the body. Additionally, an outer surface of the body may have a pattern of friction lines or patches formed by fusing particulate matter to the outer surface with heat generated by a laser beam.

Core Bit Having a Spiral-Tube-Shaped Drill Shaft, and Method for Producing a Spiral-Tube-Shaped Drill Shaft for a Core Bit
A core bit for producing a borehole in a workpiece includes a cutting portion with one or more cutting segments, a drill shaft portion with a tubular drill shaft, and a connecting device which connects the cutting portion and the drill shaft portion releasably or non-releasably together. The tubular drill shaft is configured as a welded spiral tube.
Metal Matrix Compositions and Methods for Manufacturing Same
A metal matrix composite composition includes tungsten carbide in an amount of 45 wt % to 72 wt % of the composition. In addition, the composition includes a binder in an amount of 28 wt % to 55 wt % of the composition. The binder includes nickel in an amount of at least 99 wt % of the binder.
SILVER BRAZING MATERIAL AND JOINING METHOD USING THE SILVER BRAZING MATERIAL
A silver brazing material containing silver, copper, zinc, manganese, nickel, and tin as indispensable constituent elements. The silver brazing material includes 35 mass % or more and 45 mass % or less silver, 18 mass % or more and 28 mass % or less zinc, 2 mass % or more and 6 mass % or less manganese, 1.5 mass % or more and 6 mass % or less nickel, and 0.5 mass % or more and 5 mass % or less tin, with the balance being copper impurities. Within these compositional ranges, a predetermined relation is set between the manganese content and the nickel content, whereby the silver brazing material can be provided with excellent characteristics also in terms of processability or wettability. In the silver brazing material of the present invention, the silver content is reduced, and also melting point reduction and the narrowing of the temperature difference between solidus temperature and liquidus temperature are attempted.
MULTI-PIECE LAYERED HONEYCOMB EXTRUSION DIES AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME
Extrusion dies and methods of manufacturing extrusions dies, the extrusion die including a first plate and a second plate. The first plate has first upstream and downstream surfaces. A first material of the first plate has a first elastic modulus. The first plate includes pins formed between a plurality of slots. The pins and slots define a discharge face for the extrusion die at the first downstream surface of the first plate. The second plate has second upstream and downstream surfaces. The second plate is joined at the second downstream surface to the first upstream surface of the first plate. A second material of the second plate has a second elastic modulus. The second elastic modulus is greater than the first elastic modulus. A plurality of feed holes extend from the second upstream surface of the second plate through the extrusion die into communication with the slots.
