Plurality of studs being friction welded to an exterior surface of a curved structure having a block patch and a steel patch between the exterior surface and the studs
In some implementations, an apparatus comprises a pipe, a stud that is forge-welded to the pipe, creating a forge-welded stud, a bracket that is operably coupled to the forge-welded stud, and a ladder support operably coupled to the bracket.

REPAIR ULTRA-LARGE CASTING
A design for repair casting having a repairable ultra-large single-piece casting and a replacement part. The ultra-large single-piece casting includes a main body portion, at least one predefined replaceable portion integrally cast with the main body portion, and a cut-guide delineating the predefined replaceable portion from the main body portion. The cut-guide includes a continuous channel defined on an exterior surface of the single-piece casting. The cut-guide further includes a rib extending from a channel wall on the main body portion. A damaged replaceable portion is excisable from the main-body portion by cutting through the single-piece casting along the cut-guide. The excised damaged replaceable portion may be replaced with the replacement part, which has substantially the same geometry, dimensions, and mechanical properties as an undamaged replaceable portion. The replacement part may be joined to the main body portion by mechanical means or by welding.

WELD REPAIR SYSTEM
A blade repair method is provided and includes operating a deposition head to deposit additional materials onto base materials while moving the deposition head relative to the base materials, arranging a temperature regulating assembly to remain aside the base materials in a trailing position relative to the deposition head and controlling operations of the temperature regulating assembly during deposition head movements and during depositional operations of the deposition head to control temperatures of at least the base materials and the additional materials during at least the deposition head movements and the depositional operations.
METHOD OF IN-SITU REPAIR OF AN ULTRA-LARGE SINGLE-PIECE CASTING
A method of repairing an ultra-large single-piece cast component of a vehicle body. The method includes the steps of locating a damaged portion of the cast component, determining an extent of the damaged portion of the ultra-large cast component, defining a cut-line sectioning off the damaged portion from an undamaged portion of the ultra-large cast component, cutting along the cut-line to excise the damaged portion from the undamaged portion of the ultra-large cast component, and joining a replacement piece to the undamaged portion of the ultra-large cast component. The replacement piece is fabricated based on the original manufacturer’s geometry and dimensional data of the excised damaged portion. The undamaged portion of the ultra-large cast component remains on the vehicle body during the repair.

Methods of furnace-less brazing
A method of furnace-less brazing of a substrate is provided. The method includes providing a substrate having a braze region thereon; disposing braze precursor material containing a nickel powder, an aluminum powder, and a platinum group metal powder on the braze region; and initiating an exothermic reaction of the braze precursor material such that the exothermic reaction produces a braze material that reaches a braze temperature above the solidus temperature of the braze material. A braze precursor material is also provided.
COKE PLANT TUNNEL REPAIR AND ANCHOR DISTRIBUTION
A coke plant includes multiple coke ovens where each coke oven is adapted to produce exhaust gases, a common tunnel fluidly connected to the plurality of coke ovens and configured to receive the exhaust gases from each of the coke ovens, multiple standard heat recovery steam generators fluidly connected to the common tunnel where the ratio of coke ovens to standard heat recovery steam generators is at least 20:1, and a redundant heat recovery steam generator fluidly connected to the common tunnel where any one of the plurality of standard heat recovery steam generators and the redundant heat recovery steam generator is adapted to receive the exhaust gases from the plurality of ovens and extract heat from the exhaust gases and where the standard heat recovery steam generators and the redundant heat recovery steam generator are all connected in parallel with each other.
