Adjustable damping arrangement for a non-rotating tool holder
A damper assembly for use with a non-rotating tool holder includes a hollow ram for supporting a non-rotating tool and a damper assembly mounted in the hollow ram for absorbing vibrations of the ram. The damper assembly includes a front plate and a rear plate, an upper tie rod and a lower tie rod extending between the front plate and the rear plate, and a damper mass mounted between the front plate and the rear plate. Ring dampers are mounted between the damper mass and the front and rear plates, and suspension springs are mounted between the upper tie rod and the lower tie rod. The suspension springs carry the weight of the damper mass so that the ring dampers do not have to carry the weight of the damper mass, and the damper mass is free to respond to vibrations in the ram.
Self-balancing line shaft of a machine tool
A self-balancing line shaft of a machine tool includes a spindle device, a cutter tool holder and at least one balancing assembly. The spindle device includes a spindle extending along and rotatable about an axis, and at least one precision lock nut threadedly engaged with and rotated with the spindle. The cutter tool holder is coaxially connected and rotated with the spindle. The balancing assembly includes an annular groove formed in one of the precision lock nut and the cutter tool holder and extending along a circle path surrounding the axis, and a plurality of weight members disposed in the annular groove to be moved in a direction opposite to a rotation unbalance during rotation of the spindle such that the center of mass of the whole rotating system is close to the axis.
POSITION ADJUSTMENT DEVICE AND ULTRAPRECISION MACHINE TOOL
A position adjustment device for adjusting the height of an object to be supported includes: a fixed portion; a movable portion provided to be movable in the height direction relative to the fixed portion and supporting the object to be supported; an expanding and contracting portion coupled to the fixed portion and the movable portion and configured to expand and contract in the height direction; an adjustment mechanism configured to adjust the position of the movable portion in the height direction relative to the fixed portion; and a metal member fixed to the fixed portion and the movable portion.
VERTICAL LATHE WITH DAMPED VIBRATION ABSORBER
A vertical lathe with a damped vibration absorber is provided, having a ram which has an accessory on the free end thereof, the ram being movable between a retracted position and an extended position wherein vibrations are produced in, at least, two main bending directions (D1, D2) of the ram, a movable mass which is arranged in the accessory, or in the ram, guide means adapted to guide the movable mass in at least one of the main bending directions (D1, D2) of the ram, and at least one first pair of elastic stops which are arranged in the main bending direction (D1, D2) of the ram, between the movable mass and the accessory, or between the movable mass and the ram.
Flexure isolator and method of compliant isolation
An engine mount device includes a housing, a carrier within a cavity in the housing, and a flexure flexibly connecting the carrier to the housing, with a pin disposed in a hole in the carrier to support an engine. A method of providing isolation in the engine mount device includes transmitting a force from the pin into the carrier; mechanically isolating the carrier from the housing via the flexure; and providing, via the flexure, a higher stiffness in one or more radial directions of the hole compared to a stiffness provided in an axial direction of the hole.
METHOD OF FABRICATING THIN FORM FACTOR VIBRATION ISOLATORS WITH STABLE STORAGE MODULUS PROPERTIES OVER EXTENDED TEMPERATURE RANGES AS STANDALONE PARTS
A liquid RTV material is calendared and cured to form a sheet of Silicone material. The de-gassing, pressing and curing steps are tailored to provide a low porosity Silicone sheet having a fine surface finish and consistent chemical properties. The sheet is stamped or cut to form standalone vibration isolators having a thin and dimensionally stable form factor of less than 1.25 mm that exhibit a stable storage modulus to temperature excursions below 30 C. and preferably over a range of 60 C. to 100 C.
MACHINE TOOL WITH OPTIMIZED ORIENTATION OF VIBRATION DAMPERS
A machine tool includes a first machine element movable in a travel direction and having first and second side faces. The first and second side faces of the first machine element run parallel to the travel direction and are oriented at a right angle to each other. The first machine element is moved in the travel direction in a guideway of a second machine element by a drive unit in a positionally controlled manner. The machine tool further includes first and second vibration dampers which are oriented at a right angle to the travel direction and configured to dampen vibrations of the first machine element in respective vibration directions. At least one of the first and second vibration dampers is oriented to solely dampen a vibration in a vibration direction that is neither parallel to the first side face nor parallel to the second side face.
Machine tool
A machine tool is configured so that: a first frequency band comprising the main shaft characteristic vibration frequency and a second frequency band comprising the mechanical structure characteristic vibration frequency are set; thresholds are stored for each of the set frequency bands; vibration components are extracted for each of the frequency bands from the output of a vibration sensor; and when the vibration amplitude exceeds a threshold in either of the frequency bands, an alarm is sounded.
Tool Holder Having An Arrangement For Delivering Coolant And Transmitting Electric Power
A tool holder used in a machine which supplies power via a spindle and deliveries coolant is provided with a connector in the spindle; a conductive ring on the connector and electrically connected to the spindle so as that power is configured to supply to the tool holder; a tool mounting member including an axial hole for fastening a portion of a tool; an actuator in the tool mounting member and electrically connected to the conductive ring so that power is transmitted to the tool via the axial hole; an axial passageway through both the connector and the tool mounting member; and a waterproof dividing member for dividing the axial passageway into a first channel for delivering coolant and a second channel for passing a wire. The first channel is spaced from the second channel so that electric power transmission and coolant delivery are made independently.
