STATIC EQUILIBRIUM ADJUSTING SYSTEM AND METHOD
20240298823 · 2024-09-12 ·

A static equilibrium adjusting system includes a bladder (10) and a regulation valve (20). An elastic restoration device (11) is arranged in the bladder (10) to support an external pressing force. The regulation valve (20) is in communication with the bladder (10) to provide an adjustable reverse-resisting force to resist an air pressure generated, in a direction toward the regulation valve (20), by the bladder (10). Through selection of a size of the interior space of the bladder (10) and a density and an elastic property of the elastic restoration device (11), a rebounding force is generated to cooperate with the reverse-resisting force generated by the regulation valve (20) to provide a supporting force to the bladder (10), so that an effect of static equilibrium is achieved among the external pressing force, the bladder (10), and the regulation valve (20).

Bed covering apparatus equipped with an air inlet that has a fastener for selectively opening and closing the air inlet
20180192794 · 2018-07-12 ·

A bed covering having a plurality of layers between which is an air cavity and having at least one air inlet in fluid communication with the air cavity. The layers have folds and have fasteners. The fasteners may fasten and unfasten and include respective fastener components that self-close when brought together to engage each other and that disengage to separate from each other. The fastener components when fastened to each other close the at least one air inlet and when unfastened from each other open the at least on air inlet. An elastic band is also provided on the periphery to wrap around an air tube when inserted into the at least one air inlet and apply an elastic force under tension to retain the same.

CERVICAL SPINE ASSISTIVE DEVICE
20180140117 · 2018-05-24 ·

The cervical spine assistive device is a supporting pad providing relaxation and rehabilitation to cervical spine. The cervical spine assistive device includes a semi-cylindrical base member having a saddle-shaped middle section conforming to the curvature of the cervical spine. A number of semi-spherical bulges are arranged on the middle section. The heights of the bulges gradually decrease from around the user's shoulder to the user's head so as to ensure contact and support from the neck to the head, achieving enhanced relaxation and rehabilitation.

Inflatable cushion and air valve for same
09955793 · 2018-05-01 · ·

An inflatable cushion including: an inflatable body, having an upper surface and a lower surface, said body including an air-impermeable skin defining a chamber, an elastic foam core within said chamber and a sealable air valve; and an external elastic foam layer substantially covering at least one of said upper and lower of surfaces; wherein: the foam core is formed of a foam having a density of between about 15 kg/m3 and about 35 kg/ma and a hardness of between about 25 newtons and about 45 newtons; and the foam layer is formed of a foam having a density of between about 35 kg/m3 and about 65 kg/m3 and a hardness of between about 35 newtons and about 95 newtons.

INFLATABLE MATTRESS BUMPER SYSTEM
20180110342 · 2018-04-26 ·

A mattress guard with one or more inflatable bumpers to prevent patients or older adults from accidentally rolling out of or falling out of bed, and also to avoid the patients or older adults from being trapped in hard/rigid bed rails. A mattress cover includes a fitted mattress sheet, one or more inflatable bumpers, and an air pump system to inflate and deflate the one or more bumpers. At least one of the bumpers has a length and a position that optimizes safety and allows for common user movements without requiring deflation of the bumper. A dual pump system may include primary pump with higher inflation rate to initially inflate one or more bumpers and a secondary pump with lower inflation rate and/or that is quieter to maintain inflation of the bumper(s). An alert system can provide alerts to relatives or staff if a patient is endangered.

PORTABLE HEADREST

Described in an example embodiment herein is a portable headrest. The portable headrest may be deployed on a surface in front of a user, such as a tray table on an aircraft or a desk.

PILLOW INCLUDING GELATINOUS ELASTOMER CUSHION HAVING DEFORMABLE WALL MEMBERS AND RELATED METHODS
20180078062 · 2018-03-22 ·

A pillow includes a pillow cushion consisting essentially of a gelatinous elastomer that is sized and configured to support a head and neck of a person using the pillow cushion. The pillow cushion has a first major surface, a second major surface, and deformable wall members extending between the first major surface and the second major surface. The deformable wall members are located and configured to define voids therebetween such that the deformable wall members may be displaced into adjacent voids upon deformation of the deformable wall members. The deformable wall members are configured to buckle when a pressure applied to a cushioning surface of the pillow cushion, in a direction perpendicular to the first major surface, exceeds a threshold pressure level. A pillow cover covers the pillow cushion. A method of fabricating a pillow includes enclosing such a cushion in a pillow cover.

Blanket apparatus for distributing conditioned air into zones of a bed
09907407 · 2018-03-06 ·

A bed covering or blanket apparatus for accepting and distributing a pressurized flow of conditioned air into a zone around the body of a bed occupant. The apparatus includes an upper layer and lower layer of differing air permeability, joined to form a flow cavity between them for the pressurized air. A plurality of joining methods between the upper and lower layer is provided within the flow area to prevent the blanket from ballooning under the pressurized airflow. The bed covering or blanket apparatus contains means to cover an entire bed while directing pressurized conditioned air to specific zones of the bed. There is connection of two independent supplies of conditioned air into a single top layer of bedding under which multiple bed occupants sleep, to evenly distribute such independent supplies into specific dual zone areas. The apparatus achieves its function by utilizing materials that are ordinarily used in existing bed linens and comforters.
