A grinding machine for grinding non-horizontal grinding surfaces comprises a deformation device which is disposed between a grinding power source and a grinding pad driven by the grinding power source. The deformation device includes a set of an offset unit and the deformation members disposed near one end of the grinding pad, wherein the offset units, the first deformation member and the second deformation member define deformation angles. Therefore, one end of the grinding pad is correspondingly fitted to various non-horizontal grinding surfaces independently through the variable angles of the deformation angle, especially for continuous irregular non-horizontal grinding surfaces. Thus, the present invention has excellent grinding effectiveness.

DRESSING APPARATUS AND DRESSING METHOD FOR SUBSTRATE REAR SURFACE POLISHING MEMBER

A dressing apparatus includes a bus member which is equipped with a ceiling plate and a circular or polygonal cylindrical skirt portion provided at a bottom surface of the ceiling plate and which is configured to accommodate a polishing pad from thereabove. The bus member includes a dual fluid nozzle configured to jet a cleaning liquid and a gas onto a polishing surface of the polishing pad; a dress board configured to come into contact with the polishing surface of the polishing pad; and a rinse nozzle configured to supply a rinse liquid onto a contact surface between the polishing surface of the polishing pad and the dress board. A cleaning liquid, a fragment of a grindstone or a sludge is suppressed from being scattered around by the skirt portion.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING A CONVEX END FACE IN A FERRULE

A method of processing a ferrule end face using at least one grinding wheel rotatable about a central axis and having a working surface with an abrasive element is provided. The method includes holding the ferrule stationary, engaging the end face of the ferrule and the working surface of the at least one grinding wheel, rotating the at least one grinding wheel about the central axis, and moving the at least one grinding wheel relative to the ferrule along a curve perpendicular to the central axis. Processing the ferrule in this manner imparts a convex shape of the end face of the ferrule. An apparatus for carrying out the method is also disclosed.

DISC SANDER

A disc sander includes a rotary disc on which an abrasive paper is adhered for grinding workpieces. The abrasive paper is replaced by dismantling and replacing a new rotary disc adhered with a new abrasive paper without the need of peeling off the to-be-replaced abrasive paper. The disc sander includes a guard, which is moveable between a sheltered position where the guard covers around a periphery of the rotary disc to ensure the user's safety, and an unsheltered position where the rotary disc is not covered by the guard and accessible by the user, such that the user can conveniently dismantle the rotary disc from an output shaft of a motor and then install a new rotary disc, on which an abrasive paper having required roughness is adhered, on the output shaft.

Machining apparatus

A machining apparatus machines an end face of a tapered roller with a grinding wheel. The machining apparatus includes a support mechanism configured to support the tapered roller, a wheel unit on which the grinding wheel is mounted, and a base configured to support the wheel unit so that the wheel unit is swivelable about a center line in a vertical direction. A machining point where the grinding wheel is brought into contact with the end face of the tapered roller supported by the support mechanism is located on an extension of the center line serving as a swivel center of the wheel unit.

AUTOMATIC WET SANDING APPARATUS

To change the direction of water flowing toward a painted surface so as to flow toward the center side of a hood, a water deflecting member is provided that extends toward the center side of the hood while extending toward the painted surface as seen in a state where automatic wet sanding is performed. Thus, water bouncing off the painted surface is less likely to scatter over a wide area of the painted surface, and sanding dust is also less likely to scatter over a wide area of the painted surface. As a result, it is possible to eliminate the need for the troublesome task of wiping off sanding dust remaining on the painted surface, and to achieve a quality finish on the painted surface.

In an automatic wet sanding apparatus including a paper peeling unit that has a clamping shaft and a clamping hook, an inclination angle of a leading end surface of the clamping hook is equal to an inclination angle of an outer circumferential surface of a cushion pad at the start of a paper peeling step. Thus, the leading end surface of the clamping hook comes into contact with an outer circumferential end of a disc at the same time as coming into contact with the outer circumferential surface of the cushion pad, so that the cushion pad is less likely to get caught due to deformation of the outer circumferential surface and its peripheral part of the cushion pad. It is therefore possible to appropriately remove the sandpaper from the cushion pad and stably perform the task of removing the sandpaper.

FINE ADJUSTMENT THREAD ASSEMBLY AND PROCESSING APAPRATUS
20210268621 · 2021-09-02 ·

A fine adjustment thread assembly couples a first part and a second part to each other while keeping the first part and the second part spaced apart, adjusts the distance between the first part and the second part, and detects a load applied to the second part. The assembly includes first external threads that can be brought into threaded engagement with first internal threads formed in the first part, second external threads that are axially spaced from the first external threads, that have a thread pitch different from that of the first internal thread, and that can be brought into threaded engagement with second internal threads formed in the second part. A joint portion between the first external threads and the second external threads houses a load sensor under a compressive load.

In an automatic wet sanding apparatus including a disc and a cushion pad, a disc center hole is formed at a central portion of the disc and a pad center hole is formed at a central portion of the cushion pad. Water having been supplied to an introduction space inside a skirt is stirred as an eccentric head rotates eccentrically and thereby pushed out toward a painted surface via the disc center hole and the pad center hole with enhanced pressure. Thus, sanding dust resulting from automatic wet sanding can be washed away toward an outer circumferential side by the water that is pushed out toward the outer circumferential side, so that the likelihood of clogging due to sanding dust can be reduced and high sanding efficiency can be maintained.
