An edge detection device 7 reciprocates in a width direction of a strip 2, together with brush rolls 3, to detect an edge of the strip 2 in the width direction. The edge detection device 7 comprises a light-emitting portion 8 for emitting light from one side of the front and back surfaces of the strip 2 to the other side; a light-receiving portion 9 for receiving light emitted from the light-emitting portion 8, the light-receiving portion 9 being placed on the opposite side of the light-emitting portion 8 with respect to the strip 2; multiple covers 100 individually covering the light-emitting portion 8 and the light-receiving portion 9; an air injection means 11 for continuously injecting air to the light-emitting portion 8 or the light-receiving portion 9, the air injection means 11 being provided in each cover 100; and a water injection means 12 for injecting water to the light-emitting portion 8 or the light-receiving portion 9 at a predetermined timing, the water injection means 12 being provided in each cover 100.

A substrate processing apparatus includes: a holding part for holding a substrate; a rotating part for rotating the holding part to rotate the substrate together with the holding part; a liquid supply part for supplying a cleaning liquid to a main surface of the substrate; a polishing head for polishing the main surface; a moving part for scanning the polishing head in a radial direction of the substrate while pressing the polishing head against the main surface; and a controller for controlling the rotating part, the liquid supply part, and the moving part. The controller sets a division line that divides the main surface into plural areas in the radial direction, and controls the liquid supply part to supply the cleaning liquid for each area and controls the moving part to scan the polishing head for each area while a subsequent supply of the cleaning liquid is stopped.
Method for manufacturing of a rotor
A method for manufacturing a rotor includes the following operations: the clamping of a workpiece in a grinding machine; the performance of one or more cylindrical grinding operations whereby a rotor shaft section is ground to the desired diameter with a cylindrical grinding disk; the performance of one more profile grinding operations whereby a rotor body is profiled with a profile grinding disk. During the manufacture of the rotor in the grinding machine, the workpiece is not undamped and the cylindrical grinding operations and the profile grinding operations are done with the same grinding machine.

A deburring tool includes: a case; a hollow sleeve that reciprocates inside the cylinder in a non-rotating manner; a drive gear disposed inside the sleeve, includes a first tooth, and rotates together with the case and the sleeve; a reciprocating shaft disposed inside the sleeve, including a driven gear disposed at a basal end portion of the sleeve and a basal end side of the drive gear, the driven gear including a second tooth, a tool holder disposed at a distal end portion of the sleeve, and slides inside the sleeve in a rotational and reciprocating direction, and a stem that fixes the driven gear and the tool holder, and penetrates the drive gear, a first spring that urges the sleeve toward distal end direction; and a second spring that urges the tool holder from the drive gear toward distal end direction.

A device for processing a surface of a work piece. A motor is configured to produce a rotary force. A driving pulley is operatively coupled to the motor such that the rotary force produced by the motor causes rotation of the driving pulley. A belt is operatively coupled to the driving pulley such that rotation of the driving pulley causes rotation of the belt. A second pulley is also operatively coupled to the belt such that rotation of the belt causes rotation of the second pulley. Bristles are coupled to the belt and extend away from the belt. The rotary force produced by the motor causes the plurality of bristles to move relative to the motor. The surface of the work piece is processed when the bristles contacts the surface while the bristles are moving.

PIPE SHAVER
A portable tool for simultaneously shaving, scraping or cleaning the outer circumference of pipe has a drill shaft that connects the tool to a power source. The drill shaft has a gear wheel attached to an inner end. This drift shaft engages a circular ban to form a gear assembly that will enable the ban to rotate when power is applied to the drill shaft. Connected to the inner wall of the circular ban is a plurality of bristles that will engage the surface of a pipe. After a pipe is inserted into the tool and power applied to the tool the drill shaft and circular ban will begin to rotate. As the ban rotates, the bristles will move over the surface of the pipe thereby performing the cleaning activity on the pipe's outer surface. During the cleaning process, the user can move the pipe linearly through the tool and clean the entire length of the pipe.
