APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR GENERATING ICE PELLETS
An apparatus and method for generating ice pellets, in particular for controlling the properties of the generated ice pellets. The apparatus comprises a pellet generation region; at least one nozzle configured to supply a plurality of water droplets to the pellet generation region; a liquefied gas supply configured to deliver a liquefied gas to the pellet generation region to thereby freeze the water droplets to generate a plurality of ice pellets; at least one temperature measuring device configured to obtain data indicative of the temperature of the ice pellets at generation; and a control system configured to adjust the flow rate of water and/or liquefied gas to thereby control the temperature of the ice pellets at generation.
A METHOD FOR CLEANING A TURBOFAN ENGINE AND APPARATUS FOR USE THEREOF
A method and apparatus for cleaning a turbofan engine by use of dry ice pellets and a plurality of nozzles. The method comprises steps of setting up the emitting device, activating the turbofan engine, initiating the emitting device for cleaning the turbofan engine, halting the turbofan engine and repeating the steps for various settings and parameters. The apparatus comprises an emitting device, a plurality of nozzles, a conduit means, and a clamp.
LINING MATERIAL PEELING METHOD
In a lining material peeling method of peeling a lining material, which is fixedly formed on a surface of a base material, from the base material, a liquefied fluid which evaporates after injection is injected to a boundary between the base material and the lining material.
Particle feeder
An apparatus is described which introduces cryogenic particles received from a source of particles, having a first pressure, into a moving transport fluid, having a second pressure, for ultimate delivery to a workpiece or target as particles entrained in a transport fluid flow which seals between the source of particles and the transport fluid flow.
APPARATUS FOR MAKING DRY ICE PARTICLES, METHOD FOR OPERATING SAME, MEDICAL DRY ICE PARTICLES, METHOD FOR MAKING SAME AND USES THEREOF
The invention relates to an apparatus (100) for surface treatment of tissue by using dry ice particles (19) comprising a first inlet port (2) for connection to a first source (1) of medical pressurized liquid carbon dioxide and a first agglomeration chamber (4), which is configured for making dry ice snow (5) by delivering pressurized liquid carbon dioxide into said agglomeration chamber (4) and expanding said pressurized liquid carbon dioxide within said agglomeration chamber (4). The first agglomeration chamber (4) is fluid-connectable or fluid-connected to the first inlet port (2). The apparatus (100) further comprises a compressing device (6) being configured for compressing the dry ice snow (5) made in the agglomeration chamber (4) at least partly into compressed dry ice (14), a shredding device (12) being configured for shredding the compressed dry ice (14) at least partly into dry ice particles (19) and an outlet for discharging the dry ice particles (19). The apparatus (100) is configured for making medical, in particular medical clean, dry ice particles (19).
Method and Apparatus for cleaning a substrate
Embodiments of methods and apparatus for cleaning contaminants from a substrate are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a substrate cleaning apparatus includes: a substrate support to support a substrate along an edge of the substrate, wherein the substrate further includes a first side and an opposing second side having contaminants disposed on the second side; a showerhead disposed a first distance of about 1.5 mm to about 4.4 mm opposite the substrate support and facing the first side of the substrate; and one or more nozzles disposed a second distance of about 1 inch to about 2 inches beneath the substrate support to discharge a mixture of solid and gaseous carbon dioxide toward the contaminants on the second side of the substrate, and wherein the one or more nozzles have an angle of about 20 to about 40 degrees.
Maintenance station for casting molds and maintenance method for a casting mold
A maintenance station for casting molds is provided with a handling device on which a spraying device is disposed. The spraying device sprays a cleaning medium onto a surface of at least one casting mold. The cleaning medium is a mixture of compressed air and abrasive particles. A maintenance method for the casting mold in the maintenance station is also provided.
CARBON DIOXIDE COMPRESSION AND DELIVERY SYSTEM
The present invention is embodied in a carbon dioxide compression and delivery device that uses a plurality of reversible thermoelectric devices and to a method to operate such carbon dioxide compression and delivery device.
Adhesive articles, devices and methods for shoe manufacturing
This document relates to adhesive application devices and methods for applying an adhesive on a shoe during manufacturing.
Passive electrostatic CO2 composite spray applicator
An electrostatic spray application apparatus and method for producing an electrostatically charged and homogeneous CO.sub.2 composite spray mixture containing an additive and simultaneously projecting at a substrate surface. The spray mixture is formed in the space between CO.sub.2 and additive mixing nozzles and a substrate surface. The spray mixture is a composite fluid having a variably-controlled aerial and radial spray density comprising pressure- and temperature-regulated propellant gas (compressed air), CO.sub.2 particles, and additive particles. There are two or more circumferential and high velocity air streams containing passively charged CO.sub.2 particles which are positioned axis-symmetrically and coaxially about an inner and lower velocity injection air stream containing one or more additives to form a spray cluster. The axis-symmetrical CO.sub.2 particle-air streams are passively tribocharged during formation, and the spray clustering arrangement creates a significant electrostatic field and Coanda air mass flow between and surrounding the coaxial flow streams.
