20190358793 · 2019-11-28 ·

A hydraulic torque wrench is disclosed and includes a nut engaging portion with ratchet teeth on an external surface thereof. There is also a support member which can rotate relative to whilst retaining the nut engaging portion. A ratchet mechanism cooperates with the ratchet teeth to apply a rotational force to the nut engaging portion as a result of the pushing force from a hydraulic ram. Side plate cover a junction between the nut engaging portion and the support member with the side plates having a noncircular aperture through which a nut and bolt can extend when the wrench is in use.

TOOL AND METHOD FOR REMOVAL OF VARIABLE STATOR VANE BUSHING

A tool for removal of a bushing (such as a bushing of a variable stator vane assembly of a compressor) is provided. The tool includes a cylindrical housing, a lead screw, a threaded nut, and a pulling module with puller arms to engage the bushing. The housing defines a longitudinal axis along which the lead screw extends. The lead screw is rotatably secured within the cylindrical housing by a threaded nut engaged with the lead screw. The pulling module is removably attached to the threaded nut, such that the lead screw passes through the threaded nut before passing through the pulling module. The pulling module is provided with a pair of oppositely disposed puller arms, and each puller arm is provided with a hook portion having an engagement tab configured to engage a respective notch on the bushing. A method of removing the bushing using the tool is also disclosed.

Surgical tool

A surgical tool for removing a portion of an implant is provided that includes a housing, a motor contained within the housing and coupled to the housing, and an output shaft having a distal end and a proximal end opposite the distal end, wherein the proximal end is coupled to the motor and the distal end has an opening configured to rotatably engage an implant. The surgical tool further includes a counter-torque sleeve extending around the output shaft having a proximal end and a distal end opposite the proximal end, wherein the proximal end is coupled to the housing and the distal end is configured to couple to the implant relative to the counter-torque sleeve. Upon a rotational force to the implant, the forces transmitted by the output shaft and the counter-torque sleeve are balanced by the coupling of the output shaft and counter-torque sleeve through the housing.

Trailer landing gear apparatus

A semi-trailer landing gear apparatus employing a handheld power tool is disclosed. The landing gear apparatus is attached to a standard landing gear drive shaft. The landing gear apparatus includes a slip collar drive that allows an operator to use the power tool without removing the hand crank. The power tool has a locking blade which slides into or otherwise engages with a trailer-mounted bracket or bracket mounted on a telescoping arm when the coupler is engaged, preventing rotational movement against the operator as the motor is activated. The power tool also has a quick-release socket assembly which readily connects and disconnects the power tool from the apparatus. A planetary gear system is employed for gear reduction within the power tool. The apparatus may employ a trailer-mounted motor to raise and lower the trailer landing gear.

A retaining ring configured for in-field repair of a fuel injector sleeve upper seal leak, comprising: a circular side wall comprising a barrel-shaped outer surface and a substantially cylindrical inner surface; wherein the outer surface comprises a lower curved portion and a central portion having a curvature that is less pronounced than the lower curved portion; and wherein the lower curved portion is configured to guide the retaining ring into the fuel injector sleeve and the circular side wall has an outer diameter at the central portion that is larger than an inner diameter of the fuel injector sleeve at a location of the upper seal leak such that the retaining ring forces the fuel injector sleeve outwardly at the location of the upper seal leak as the retaining ring is moved into an installed position.

Multiple entry angle adaptor with locator for fastener installation tool

An adaptor for a fastener driver assembly employs a bi-positionable angle guide assembly mounted to a head having an entry reference surface defining an opening for a fastener. The adaptor provides a proper location and entry angle for the fastener for implementing various structural connections. A pivotal angle guide has a pair of reference engagement edges functionally configured to engage either an upper horizontal member or a lower horizontal member. A locator having a location reference is mounted to the guide assembly. In one mode, the reference edges, together with the location reference, define a proper entry location and normal angle for connecting a horizontal member, which may be either an upper plate or a lower plate, to a rim board or other structural member. The selected adaptor position is achieved by securing the adaptor in one of two stable angular positions relative to the drive axis of the fastener driver assembly. In a second mode, the implemented entry angle is oblique to the horizontal member. The adaptor also includes at least one flush indicator to indicate that the proper flush position of a reference surface is achieved. The locator is removably mounted to the pivotal angle guide and mounts a variably positionable position detector with a measurement scale.

APPARATUS FOR TIGHTENING THREADED FASTENERS

The present invention seeks to protect Applicant's HYTORC LITHIUM SERIES Torque Gun Tools for tightening and/or loosening of industrial threaded fasteners. Such tools include: a drive input and output assembly; a turning force multiplication assembly; a dual drive output and reaction assembly; and a yoke-style shifting assembly for any torque mode from lower and/or higher resistance and/or speed. A preferred embodiment includes an electric motor of the drive input and output assembly powered by a battery pack. Advantageously, the yoke-style shifting assembly: improves and simplifies design and operation of shifting; reduces tool size and cost; and increases tool portability, efficiency, reliability and repeatability, all without sacrificing Applicant's many innovations in hand-held, multispeed torque intensifying tools.

CONCENTRIC ACTUATION AND REACTION TORQUE TRANSFER SYSTEM

An actuation and reaction socket tool features a reaction coupling that is slid onto the spline flange of a power torque wrench prior to attaching the actuation socket on the drive shaft of the torque wrench and prior to securing it with a well-known safety pin. The reaction coupling is then coupled to the reaction socket via circumferentially arrayed and interlocking castles on both the reaction coupling and reaction socket. A lock plate spring loaded snaps into grooves on the inside of the castles and axially locks the reaction coupling with the reaction socket. At least one of the reaction coupling and reaction socket is axially withheld by the central actuation socket such that the entire tool system remains connected to the torque wrench. To remove the tool again, the reaction coupling and reaction socket are first decoupled, which provides access again to the safety pin for its removal.

INTERCHANGEABLE, DEBRIS INSENSITIVE AND NON-SLIPPING REACTION TORQUE TRANSFER SYSTEM

Interchangeable monolithic or stacked Belleville reaction washers initially penetrate with outward bottom serration edges only during manual pre-tightening. Slippage is thereby avoided at begin of the consecutive power torque wrench assisted full tightening of the nut and/or bolt head resting on it. As the load ramps up, the reaction washer or stack flattens out and the bottom serrations gradually penetrate radially inwards. Reaction and actuation sockets of varying sizes matching a broad range of reaction washers and nut and/or bolt heads may be interchangeably snapped on a reaction coupling connected to the torque wrench housing. A clearance undercut underneath the reaction washer torque receiving flanges captures eventual debris to further assist unimpeded and fast coupling of the system. Radially oriented contact faces between reaction washer and reaction socket provide a snug contact unaffected by their toroidal movement during washer flattening and a force transfer free of radial force components.
