Impact tool

An impact tool includes a housing, an electric motor supported in the housing, and a drive assembly for converting a continuous torque input from the motor to consecutive rotational impacts upon a workpiece capable of developing at least 1,700 ft-lbs of fastening torque. The drive assembly includes an anvil rotatable about an axis and having a head adjacent a distal end of the anvil. The head has a minimum cross-sectional width of at least 1 inch in a plane oriented transverse to the axis. The drive assembly also includes a hammer that is both rotationally and axially movable relative to the anvil for imparting the consecutive rotational impacts upon the anvil, and a spring for biasing the hammer in an axial direction toward the anvil.

A power tool includes a motor having a motor shaft, a first intermediate shaft, and a second intermediate shaft extending in parallel to the first intermediate shaft. An output shaft removably holds a tool accessory and has a driving axis extending in parallel to the first and second intermediate shafts. A motion-converting mechanism converts rotation of the first intermediate shaft to linearly hammer the tool accessory. A rotation-transmitting mechanism transmits rotation of the second intermediate shaft to rotate the output shaft. A rotational axis of the motor shaft intersects, or is skewed relative to, the driving axis. A pair of first gears, e.g., bevel gears, operably couples the motor shaft to a first one of the first and second intermediate shafts. A pair of second gears operably couples the first one of the first and second intermediate shafts to a second one of the first and second intermediate shafts.

Power Tool

A power tool for chiseling and drilling includes a housing, a motor disposed inside the housing, and a pneumatic percussion mechanism. An operation mode selector switch is disposed on the housing and has a first operation mode setting and a second operation mode setting where the first operation mode setting activates the pneumatic percussion mechanism and the second operation mode setting deactivates the pneumatic percussion mechanism. A valve has an inlet-port formed inside the guiding tube and an outlet-port formed outside the guiding tube where the valve is connected to the operation mode selector switch. The valve is closed in the first operation mode setting which disables an air exchange between the inlet-port and the outlet-port and the valve is open in the second operation mode setting which enables the air exchange between the inlet-port and the outlet-port.

A power tool includes a housing and an electric motor supported within the housing. The housing includes a main housing portion that defines a rear opening. The electric motor includes an output shaft supporting a rotor assembly for rotation about a motor axis. The electric motor also includes a stator assembly surrounding the rotor assembly, and a rear end cap. The rear end cap supports a rear motor bearing that rotatably supports the output shaft at a rear end. A portion of the rear end cap resides within the rear opening to close the rear opening.

An electric tool includes a housing, a motor, a tool interface, a control circuit, a master switch, and a protection circuit. The tool interface is configured to connect to a power supply to supply power to the motor. The master switch is disposed on a current path formed by the tool interface and the control circuit. The master switch has an on state in which electric connection between the tool interface and the control circuit is on and an off state in which the electric connection between the tool interface and the control circuit is off. The protection circuit is connected between the master switch and the control circuit and is configured to disconnect connection between the tool interface and the control circuit in response to the master switch being in the on state before the tool interface connects to the power supply.

A rotary power tool comprises a drive mechanism including an electric motor and a transmission, a housing enclosing at least a portion of the drive mechanism, a spindle rotatable in response to receiving torque from the drive mechanism, a first ratchet coupled for co-rotation with the spindle, a second ratchet rotationally fixed to the housing, a sleeve bushing on an interior of the housing, and a bearing arranged between the spindle and the sleeve bushing and rotatably supporting the spindle. The bearing has an outer race. The spindle is movable relative to the housing in response to contact with a workpiece, causing the first and second ratchets to engage and the spindle to reciprocate while rotating. The outer race of the bearing moves along the sleeve bushing during reciprocation of the spindle when the first ratchet and second ratchet are engaged.

A hammer drill comprises a drive mechanism including a spindle, a first ratchet coupled for co-rotation with the spindle, a second ratchet rotationally fixed to the housing, and a hammer lockout mechanism adjustable between a first mode and a second mode. The hammer drill further comprises a clutch adjustable between a first mode and a second mode. The hammer drill further comprises a detent radially movable between a locking position and an unlocking position, and a collar movable between a first rotational position in which the hammer lockout mechanism is in the first mode and a second rotational position in which the hammer lockout mechanism is in the second mode. In the first mode the detent is positioned such that the spindle is moveable relative to the housing. In the second mode the detent is positioned such that the spindle is prevented from moving relative to the housing.

POWER TOOL

A rotary hammer operable in a first mode in which only a hammering operation to reciprocate a tool bit along a drive axis is performed and a second mode in which the tool bit is rotationally driven about the drive axis. The rotary hammer includes a motor, a controller to control operation of the motor, a trigger moveable between an off position and an on position, a mode selection dial operable to select the first or second mode, a lock mechanism moveable between a first position and a second position, a linkage moveable between a third position and a fourth position, and a switch in communication with the controller. The switch communicates with the controller to operate the motor at full power or communicates with the controller to operate the motor at a variable speed based on the position of the trigger between the on position and the off position.

Hand-held power tool

A power tool includes a housing in which a drive unit is arranged, and a tool holder for the detachable holding of a tool insert.
