An electric power tool in one aspect of the present disclosure includes a motor, an impact mechanism, an impact detector, and a control circuit. The control circuit controls a motor current based on a drive duty ratio in a first driving term. The first driving term corresponds to a time period from when the motor is started until impact is detect. The drive duty ratio corresponds to a sum of a basic duty ratio and a proportional duty ratio. The control circuit controls the motor current so that an actual rotational speed of the motor is consistent with a target rotational speed after elapse of the first driving term.

POWER TOOL INCLUDING LOSS OF CONTROL MITIGATION

A power tool includes a housing, a motor, a switching network electrically coupled to the motor, and a printed circuit board positioned at an angle within the housing. The power tool further includes a user input configured to receive a sensitivity level for loss of control detection, a sensor configured to measure an acceleration of the housing with respect to at least two axes, and an electronic processor coupled to the switching network. The electronic processor is configured to receive one or more signals related to the acceleration of the housing of the power tool from the acceleration sensor, determine that the one or more signals exceed an acceleration threshold corresponding to the sensitivity level for loss of control detection, and control the switching network to brake the brushless DC motor in response to the one or more signals exceeding the acceleration threshold.

Power tool having hammer mechanism

A power tool includes a motor having a rotatable motor shaft, a first intermediate shaft, and a second intermediate shaft extending in parallel to the first intermediate shaft. An output shaft removably holds a tool accessory and has a driving axis. A motion-converting mechanism converts rotation of the first intermediate shaft only into linear reciprocating motion and thereby hammers the tool accessory along the driving axis. A rotation-transmitting mechanism transmits rotation of the second intermediate shaft to the output shaft and thereby only rotationally drives the output shaft around the driving axis.

Hammer drill

A hammer drill includes a housing, a first ratchet fixed to the housing, a spindle rotatably supported by the housing about an axis, and a second ratchet coupled for co-rotation with the spindle. The second ratchet is engageable with the first ratchet in response to rearward displacement of the spindle to impart a hammering action on the spindle. The hammer drill further includes a thrust bearing having an arm extending away from the axis, and a selector ring having a post extending toward the arm. The selector ring is rotatable between a first position in which the post is engageable with the arm to limit the rearward displacement of the spindle and prevent engagement of the first and second ratchets, and a second position in which the post is misaligned with the arm to permit the rearward displacement of the spindle and engagement of the first and second ratchets.

Power tool having hammer mechanism

A power tool, such as a rotary hammer, includes a housing, an output shaft for mounting a tool accessary and a motor having a motor shaft that generates a rotational output for rotating and linearly hammering the output shaft. The rotational output of the motor shaft is coupled to the output shaft via a driving mechanism that includes a hammer mechanism. An intervening member is axially movable relative to the motor shaft and is operably coupled between the motor shaft and the hammer mechanism. The hammer mechanism and the output shaft are supported by a movable support that is axially movable relative to the housing. Because the output shaft and the driving mechanism are movable relative to the motor and the housing, which preferably includes handle, via the intervening member and the movable support during hammering operations, vibration generated during hammering operations can be dampened before reaching the housing.

A driver drill includes a motor housing that holds an electric motor, an axis of rotation of a rotor of the electric motor extending in a front-rear direction of the driver drill, a grip housing having an upper end connected to a lower part of the motor housing and an enlarged-part housing connected to a lower end of the grip housing and spaced from the motor housing in an up-down direction of the driver drill that is perpendicular to the front-rear direction. A torque setting of the driver drill is changeable, and the driver drill is changeable between a setting unlocked state in which the torque setting is changeable and a setting locked state in which the torque setting is not changeable.

A dust collector includes a body configured to be removably attached to a lower side of a tool body of a drilling tool, a dust storing part to be disposed on a lower side of the body, a sliding part having a suction port and held by the body so as to be slidable in a front-rear direction, a dust transfer passage extending within the sliding part and connecting the suction port and an inlet of the dust storing part, and a tool connection passage disposed within an internal space of the body and configured to connect an outlet of the dust storing part and an inlet of the tool body of the drilling tool. The dust storing part includes the inlet, a filter, a dust storing space and the outlet. The filter is disposed forward of the inlet of the dust storing part.

Rotary power tool including transmission housing bushing

A rotary power tool comprises a drive mechanism including an electric motor and a transmission, a housing enclosing at least a portion of the drive mechanism, a spindle rotatable in response to receiving torque from the drive mechanism, a first ratchet coupled for co-rotation with the spindle, a second ratchet rotationally fixed to the housing, a sleeve bushing on an interior of the housing, and a bearing arranged between the spindle and the sleeve bushing and rotatably supporting the spindle. The bearing has an outer race. The spindle is movable relative to the housing in response to contact with a workpiece, causing the first and second ratchets to engage and the spindle to reciprocate while rotating. The outer race of the bearing moves along the sleeve bushing during reciprocation of the spindle when the first ratchet and second ratchet are engaged.

A mechanical timer mechanism can include a driven gear mounted to a rotary damper and a drive gear operably coupled to the driven gear. In bump mode, movement of a trigger to its firing position can initially move the drive gear into its wind-up position. Thereafter, a contact trip can move the drive gear to its wind-up position and an actuator of the trigger to its firing position each time the contact trip is activated, unless the timing mechanism has timed out between firings. In sequential mode, the drive gear can be moved into a timer lock-out position which holds the contact trip in a bypass position in which the contact trip will not engage the actuator of the trigger unless the trigger is moved to its firing position prior to activation of the contact trip.
