Apparatus to assist a mechanic to work on the engine of a vehicle

An apparatus which enables a person to comfortable work on the engine of a vehicle includes base, spine, post, knee pad, and chest pad components. The spine component is pivotally connected to the base component. A brace prevents the pivoting movement but is removably connected between the spine and the base to allow pivoting when desired. The spine component carries the tube component at a selected height, and the tube component carries the knee pad component at a selected position. The tube component carries the chest pad component.

Provided is a jack stand that includes a base and a post for extending from the base. A top is provided for topping the post and engaging with a load. The top includes a load spreader for spreading the weight of the load to the post. Advantageously, the spreader spreads the weight of the load to the post thereby resulting in a more heavy duty jack-stand, rated for significantly higher loads, than prior jack stands which instead can fracture under heavy unbalanced loads locally travelling along one side when the loading is not evenly spread.

METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF MOTOR VEHICLES

A method for production of a motor vehicle that includes providing a device for positioning motor vehicle parts that comprises a base frame having at least one base module arranged thereon, and at least one exchangeable docking plate configured for connection to the base module, the docketing plate having arranged thereon a plurality of receivers configured to hold the motor vehicle parts, transferring a first docking plate to the base frame, connecting, at a configuration station, the docking plate to the base module, fitting, at a work station, a motor vehicle part to the docking plate, such that the motor vehicle part is held by the receivers, and equipping the motor vehicle part with add-on parts.

An apparatus for partially supporting a vehicle is provided especially for a vehicle having a very limited area on its underside within which to safely apply an upward force, including vehicles with a small distance between the bottom of the chassis and the ground such as a sports car which allows the user to position a lifting jack under the vehicle at the proper access jack point for engagement of the lifting a portion of the vehicle, and lifting the jack and vehicle portion upwardly to a desired height. The legs of the jack stand can be temporarily inserted into a support member engaging the vehicle and the jack. The jack stand includes a horizontal support member with bottom facing open ends telescopically connected to a pair of rigid legs and each of the legs are telescopically attached to supporting bases using locking pins. Once the jack stand is installed, the lifting jack can be removed.

Syncing apparatuses, process dollies, and conveyor assemblies

A syncing apparatus for synchronizing a process dolly to a conveyor includes a mounting frame and a sync arm. The mounting frame is configured to be mounted to a frame of the process dolly. The sync arm is coupled to the mounting frame and includes a wheel and a biasing member coupled to the wheel and configured to bias the wheel to an extended position. The wheel is configured to contact a contact feature of the conveyor to synchronize the process dolly to a movement of the conveyor when biased to the extended position. Compression of the biasing member moves the wheel to a retracted position wherein the wheel is configured to traverse the contact feature of the conveyor and the process dolly is unsynchronized from the movement of the conveyor.

An anti-theft device for use particularly on large vehicles such as trailers, Recreational Vehicles (RV's), and movable tiny houses that require extended storage when not in use. The main body of the device is comprised of a substantially right angled triangle-shaped structure constructed of a heavy metal plate having a broad middle portion and a pair of identical L-shaped pivotally mounted metal plates forming the feet on either side of the broad middle portion of the device. A pair of reinforcement metal bars are welded to the top and bottom of the main body of the device to provide lateral re-enforcement of the main body to hold the weight of a heavy vehicle in storage. The vehicle is lifted up with a jack, the wheels removed and the device is secured to the axle of the vehicle and effectively holds up the vehicle after the jack is removed.

GAS TURBINE ENGINE YOKE AND BUILD SUPPORT

A gas turbine engine yoke includes an arcuate body mountable to a stand and rotatable between an upright orientation and a horizontal orientation. The body has an inner wall spaced apart from an outer wall and first and second side walls extending between the inner and outer walls. A mounting plane of the yoke extends through the inner and outer walls and is positioned between the first and second side walls. Engine attachments are spaced apart along the inner wall and lie in the mounting plane. A method of assembling the gas turbine engine is also disclosed.
