There is disclosed an ergonomic scissors tool and associated methods for performing precise cutting operations in a variety of applications including hair cutting, pet grooming, medical applications, and/or clothing manufacturing, repair, and/or tailoring. One embodiment provides a scissors tool including an upper cutting member extending proximally to distally from an upper digit-receiving eyelet to an upper blade portion, as well as a lower cutting member extending proximally to distally from an upper digit-receiving eyelet to an upper blade portion, where the lower cutting member is disposed beneath and pivotally coupled with the upper cutting member. The upper and the lower blade portions meet at a horizontal cutting plane, and an offset configured for one or both of a user's physiology and the relevant use application separates the upper and the lower digit-receiving eyelets from the horizontal cutting plane. A shears that includes a first cutting blade including a first aperture and a second cutting blade including a second aperture, the second cutting blade pivotally coupled to the first cutting blade at a pivot joint. The shears further includes a first handle operable to pivot the first cutting blade about the pivot joint and a second handle operable to pivot the second cutting blade about the pivot joint. The pivot joint includes a bolt that extends through the first aperture and the second aperture. The bolt includes a head, a shank that extends from the head, and a longitudinal axis that extends centrally through the head and the shank along a length of the shank. The head includes a concave outer surface that extends around the longitudinal axis of the bolt.

A shears that includes a first cutting blade including a first aperture and a second cutting blade including a second aperture, the second cutting blade pivotally coupled to the first cutting blade at a pivot joint. The shears further includes a first handle operable to pivot the first cutting blade about the pivot joint and a second handle operable to pivot the second cutting blade about the pivot joint. The pivot joint includes a bolt that extends through the first aperture and the second aperture. The bolt includes a head, a shank that extends from the head, and a longitudinal axis that extends centrally through the head and the shank along a length of the shank. The head includes a concave outer surface that extends around the longitudinal axis of the bolt.

A pair of training scissors structurally configured to help a child learn proper finger positions for use of scissors. The handles include solid bowl apertures to positioned so that the tips of the fingers are desirably positioned so that the tips of the fingers are utilized to operate the scissors. The scissors also include an illumination feature that encourages a child to practice opening and closing the scissors as they are motivated by the light. This repetition serves to reinforce the proper finger positions, and the repetitions also help develop muscle strength.

The fastener is rotatably connected with the first grip and includes a hook and a coupling extension. The limitation member partially extends out of the notch and movably fits on the coupling segment, and the limitation member includes a wide-diameter section for retaining with the notch and includes a narrow-diameter section for removing the limitation member from the fastener, wherein the second grip has a fixing post configured to retain with the hook.

A switch structure for pliers contains: a first operation part, a second operation part, a first spring, a fastener, and a limitation member. The first operation part is rotatably connected with the second operation part so as to form a first grip, a second grip, a first cutting plier, and a second cutting plier. The first spring is defined between the first grip and the second grip, and the first grip has a notch. The fastener is rotatably connected with the first grip and includes a hook and a coupling extension. The movable blade moves in a plane parallel to the cutting plane, and the fixed blade has a first flat side. A fixed jaw with a second flat side (21) facing the first flat side is formed that also extends up to the upper end area of the fixed blade. A passage slot for the movable blade adjusted to the thickness (d) is formed between the first and second flat side, so as to ensure the shearing interaction between the movable and fixed blade even under a load by having the jaw act as a supporting jaw.

The pair of scissors comprises: a first handle portion operated by a thumb; a second handle portion operated by other fingers; a first blade portion which connects to the first handle portion; and a second blade portion which connects to the second handle portion; first and second protruding portions which protrude the first blade portion and the second blade portion to the second handle portion side from a position where the first blade portion and the second blade portion intersect each other; and a pin joint that rotatably joins both of the first protruding portion and the second protruding portion to each other.
