Cutting mechanism
A cutting mechanism for a hair cutting apparatus, such as a shaving apparatus, includes an outer cutting member having hair-entry openings and an inner cutting member having cutting elements each having a first cutting edge. The inner cutting member is moveable with respect to the outer cutting member so as to perform a cutting operation within a cutting region of the cutting mechanism. Adjacent hair-entry openings are separated by a dividing element having a cutting section that lies within the cutting region and a non-cutting section that is outside the cutting region. The non-cutting section includes an inner wall facing the inner cutting member and a side wall which is substantially perpendicular to the inner wall. A single chamfer is provided between the inner wall of the non-cutting region and the side wall of the non-cutting region.
Cutting unit and shaving head of a shaving device
A cutting unit of a shaving head of a shaving device, which cutting unit includes an external cutting member and an internal cutting member. In an interconnected condition, a holding force prevents the external and internal cutting members from moving apart. The holding force is at least exerted by a first central portion of the external cutting member upon a second central portion of the internal cutting member, and/or vice versa. The holding force may for example be provided by a snap connection or magnetic attraction between the first and second central portions.
Cutting unit and shaving head of a shaving device
A cutting unit of a shaving head of a shaving device, which cutting unit includes an external cutting member and an internal cutting member. In an interconnected condition, a holding force prevents the external and internal cutting members from moving apart. The holding force is at least exerted by a first central portion of the external cutting member upon a second central portion of the internal cutting member, and/or vice versa. The holding force may for example be provided by a snap connection or magnetic attraction between the first and second central portions.

This disclosure is concerned with a personal care device with a treatment head being pivot-mounted around a pivot axis, the personal care device having a pin having a pin head, a cam element having a cam surface, a spring element biasing the pin head and the cam surface against each other, wherein the cam surface is shaped such that it defines a rest position at which the biasing spring force provided by the spring element with which the pin head and the cam surface are pushed against each other has a non-zero minimum value, and wherein a pivoting of the head around the pivot axis causes the pin head to move along the cam surface and the cam surface is further shaped such that the spring force pushing the pin head and the cam surface against each other increases with increasing pivoting angle.

An electric shaver, including a machine body and a cutting head that are connected to one another; the machine body includes an outer casing, a control chip and a driving component which are provided within the outer casing, and a handle sensing element which is provided on the outer casing; the cutting head includes a head portion sensing element; the control chip is simultaneously connected to the driving component, handle sensing element and head portion sensing element; and the driving component is also connected to the cutting head. The electric shaver will automatically start up when both the handle sensing element and the head portion sensing element sense the proximity of a human body (skin). In an external cutting member (10) which is configured to be used in a hair-cutting unit in combination with a rotatable internal cutting member, a base (11) includes at least one hair-cutting track (21) which is provided with a plurality of hair-entry openings, and an annular base portion (31) located between a central portion (17) of the base (11) and an innermost one of the at least one hair-cutting track (21). The annular base portion (31) is provided with a profiled section which is located between a straight inner section (32) and a straight outer section (33) of the annular base portion (31), which is annular about a central axis (16) of the external cutting member (10), and which is shaped according to a predefined profile, seen in a cross-section of the external cutting member (10) comprising the central axis (16).

An attachment for a personal care device, such as a shaving or trimming device, is configured to be releasably coupled to a coupling structure of the personal care device by a coupler. The coupler includes a shaft having at least one coupling recess on the circumferential surface thereof. The coupling recess has a central portion and first and second side portions arranged on opposite sides of the central portion. The coupling recess also includes a sloped surface arranged in at least the central portion. When the attachment is coupled to the coupling structure, the sloped surface is engaged by a spring of the coupling structure. At least one of the first and second side portions of the coupling recess is recessed relative to the sloped surface, seen in a direction parallel to the central axis of the shaft.

A hair-cutting unit for a shaving device, the hair-cutting unit including a hair-cutting element and a telescopic drive-shaft. The drive-shaft comprises a first shaft-segment, which is in telescopic engagement with a co-rotating second shaft-segment, which itself is in telescopic engagement with a co-rotating third shaft-segment. A spring presses the first telescopic shaft-segment and the third telescopic shaft-segment away from one another. In an embodiment, the first and second telescopic shaft-segments are in mutual tillable engagement, and/or the second and third telescopic shaft-segments are in mutual tillable engagement.
