METHOD FOR PRODUCING COMPOSITE COMPONENTS HAVING AN UNDEVELOPABLE SURFACE
Method for producing composite components having an undevelopable surface. To be able to maintain the tolerances when manufacturing especially large components in the case of composite components with undevelopable surfaces, it is proposed according to the invention to drape a cut-to-size blank on a molding tool and to determine the deviation of the cut-to-size blank edge from the setpoint cut-to-size edge. Then, on the basis of the deviation, a new cut-to-size blank edge is calculated, and a new cut-to-size blank is created and re-draped for examination purposes. The method is repeated until the deviations are below a tolerable threshold value. The method is furthermore carried out for each textile ply of the composite component.

The chain gripper carriage is arranged to be attached to at least one chain that is arranged to guide the chain gripper carriage on a guide path through at least part of the die-cutting machine. The chain gripper carriage includes a contact element functionally connected to the holding element. A chain gripper opener includes a contact surface at which, in the presence of the gripper carriage at the contact surface, the contact element cooperates with the chain gripper opener. The holding element is transferred at least from a closed position into an open position by cooperation of the chain gripper opener with the contact element. The chain gripper opener is adjustable by at least one drive.
ROTARY DIE CUTTING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SETTING A GAP DIMENSION OF A GAP BETWEEN A DIE CUTTING CYLINDER AND A COUNTER PRESSURE CYLINDER OF THE ROTARY DIE CUTTING DEVICE
A method for setting a gap dimension of a gap between a die cutting cylinder and a counter pressure cylinder of a rotary die cutting device includes providing a control system including a controller, at least one sensor, and an adjusting device actuated by the control system. The method further includes actuating the adjusting device in response to the at least one sensor sensing a deviation from a desired state, thereby setting the gap dimension between the rotary die cutting device and the counter pressure cylinder, in which actuating the adjusting device is achieved as a result of the control system operating in a closed feedback loop. The method further includes sensing by the at least one sensor occurring with or without disruption of operation of the rotary die cutting device.

CHANNELIZED INFLATABLE BODIES AND METHODS FOR MAKING THE SAME
An article of manufacture includes a first discrete inflatable body having a first core member cut from a single slab of core material and a first root portion, and further includes a second discrete inflatable body comprising a second core member cut from the single slab of core material and a second root portion. Each of the first and second core members includes a plurality of ribs, and the ribs extend laterally from the first and second root portions.
OSTOMY WAFER CUTTER
Provided is an ostomy wafer cutter for enlarging a hole of an ostomy wafer. The ostomy wafer cutter includes an upper element having a locking means to removably lock a blade element. An upper arm is connected to the upper element. A lower element comprises a platform and a central pin for insertion in the hole of the ostomy wafer. A lower arm is connected to the lower element. A handle portion positioned on at least one of: upper arm and/or lower arm, the handle portion graspable and moveable by a user in a cutting position to bring the upper element in close contact with the lower element causing the cutting edge to cut the ostomy wafer enlarging the hole of the ostomy wafer. The proposed wafer cutter efficiently enlarges the opening of the ostomy wafer and is useful for patients having limited dexterity and/or for elderly people.
ULTRASONIC ROTARY MOLDING
The present disclosure describes an ultrasonic rotary molding system that is used to form edible compositions or food products as they move along a conveyor belt. The food products are formed by an ultrasonic rotary wheel that includes one or more cutting tools that cut, and perhaps three dimensionally mold, food product strips. The system may include a movable backing plate that is located below the point where the ultrasonic rotary wheel cuts the food product strips. The movable backing plate may be spring loaded and it may exert force upwards against the conveyor belt and in turn against the food product.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SEPARATING BLANKS
In some examples, a blank separating device includes an upper blank separating module and a lower blank separating module. The lower blank separating module may include at least three supporting elements, each including at least one supporting surface for bracing blanks or scrap pieces. Further, the at least three supporting elements may be arranged so as to be positionable in at least three positions in the vertical direction, and two of the at least three supporting elements may be configured as supporting elements of a lower separating tool. Additionally, at least two supporting elements of the lower separating tool may each be arranged at least in three positions.
PATCH DEVICES, METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING, AND TESTING PHARMACEUTICAL AGENT DELIVERY PATCH DEVICES
A method for manufacturing a plurality of pharmaceutical agent delivery patch devices includes: providing a supply web including an active layer containing a pharmaceutically active agent; and cutting the supply web to form cut lines through the active layer. The cut lines define in the active layer: a first active layer patch having a first peripheral edge formed by the cutting step; and a second active layer patch having a second peripheral edge formed by the cutting step. The first and second peripheral edges each include a corner portion. At least a first segment of the first peripheral edge and an opposing second segment of the second peripheral edge are formed by a shared one of the cut lines.
METHOD FOR CUTTING OBJECTS OUT OF AN AT LEAST PARTIALLY TWO-PLY WEB OF MATERIAL BY MEANS OF A CUTTING DEVICE
Method for cutting objects out of an at least partially two-ply web of material by means of a cutting device, wherein two material plies are connected to one another at least partially in a linear, strip-like and/or areal manner. The position of the respective object to be cut out is detected contactlessly on the basis of changes in structure in the material, these being part of the object which arise on account of those regions in the web of material which are connected to one another in a linear, strip-like and/or areal manner. The position of the object is detected in the web of material at least on the basis of previously determined and stored, prominent and spaced-apart geometrical part shapes of those regions of the object which are connected to one another in a linear, strip-like and/or areal manner.
