The sensor can detect the trigger device when the trigger device is in close proximity, and the one or more processors can be operably connected to the sensor and to the audio chip, where the one or more processors signal the audio chip to send the audio signal to the audio transducer. The one or more processors can further receive and record a status signal indicating that the door is in an opened state. Systems can further include an environmental sensor that measures environmental information.

A system for controlling access to a secured area for the delivery of parcel shipments comprises an access device, a central server unit that is connected to the access device, and at least one database, which is linked with the central server unit. The access device further comprises a reading unit for recognizing a shipment number of a parcel shipment that is to be submitted and a transmitting unit for transmitting to the central server unit the recognized shipment number together with an identification number that identifies the access device. The central server unit is configured to check the shipment number and the identification number against the at least one database in order to retrieve registration information and shipment status. The central server unit is configured to transmit a release signal to the access device and the access device is configured to receive the release signal activate door opener.

A self-rightening post system is configured to secure a post in a casing in a desired or vertical orientation and to self-righten the post upon the removal of a deflecting force, such as from a car or lawnmower. A self-rightening post system utilizes a plurality of adjustable retainer assemblies that are configured between the post and the inside surface of the casing to produce a self-rightening force upon deflection of the post. The plurality of adjustable retainer assemblies may be configured around the post and/or on opposing sides of the post to ensure that the post will self-righten regardless of the direction of a deflecting force. The casing may be a tube and the self-rightening post system may allow the post to rotate within the casing thereby allowing a user to change a desired rotational orientation.

The first user interface element can be accessed from outside the apparatus for receiving mail. An electric power supply is for supplying the locking device and the respective user interface element, respectively. Emergency opening equipment has a second user interface element, with connecting means for the locking device, and an unlocking device configured for unlocking the locking device by way of the connecting means, in case of malfunction of said locking device and/or of the first user interface element.
