BEVEL SAWS AND METHODS OF ADJUSTING A FENCE OF A BEVEL SAW
Bevel saws and methods of adjusting a fence of a bevel saw are disclosed herein. The bevel saws include a workpiece support that defines a workpiece support surface. The bevel saws also include a user-actuated assembly and an assembly attachment structure that operatively attaches the user-actuated assembly to the workpiece support. The assembly attachment structure includes a blade bevel angle adjustment mechanism configured to adjust a blade bevel angle of the bevel saw blade. The bevel saws also include a fence that defines a fence surface that extends away from the workpiece support surface. The fence includes a first fence region and a second fence region. The first fence region and the second fence region define a blade-receiving gap therebetween, and the fence further includes a gap adjustment mechanism configured to automatically adjust the blade-receiving gap based, at least in part, on the blade bevel angle.
Miter saw including front accessible bevel lock system
A miter saw including a bevel lock assembly and bevel actuation lever assembly. The bevel lock assembly locks and unlocks a bevel post at a selected position in response to movement of an actuation handle located at a front of the miter saw easily accessible by a user. The bevel lock assembly locks the bevel post in place when the actuation handle is at a rest position. Rotation of the handle to a tensioned position unlocks the bevel lock assembly to enable repositioning of the bevel post to thereby adjust a cutting angle of a saw blade of the miter saw.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EFFICIENT MATERIAL MEASUREMENT AND CONVERSION
Exemplary embodiments of a Smart Cut system and method for efficiently and accurately converting material length using a powered saw, such as a miter saw, are disclosed. Certain embodiments are configured such that a user of a miter saw may position a board or other material beneath the miter saw blade, and cut the material to a desired length, without any need to mark a measurement on the material prior to cutting it. It is an advantage of certain embodiments that a typical retractable tape measurement device, a portable tool that is ubiquitous in the construction industry, may be leveraged to indicate proper positioning of the material prior to cutting.

Miter saw
A miter saw has a base having a detent notch, a table rotatably connectable to the base, a pivoting assembly connected to the table, and a saw assembly supported by the pivoting assembly. The saw assembly has a blade movable downwardly for a cutting operation. A locking mechanism is disposed on the table. The locking mechanism is movable between an unlocked position and a locked position for selectively unlocking and locking the table for rotational movement relative to the base about the miter axis. The locking mechanism has a lock lever rotatably connected to the table. The lock lever has a handle for moving locking mechanism between the locked and unlocked positions. The saw also has a miter detent assembly for selectively engaging and disengaging the detent notch.

Miter saw with enhanced adjustable miter angle
A miter saw includes a base, a worktable pivotally mounted to the base, a fence mounted at the worktable, an operating handle connected to the worktable, and two opposing supporting units respectively mounted to two opposite sides of the base. Each supporting unit includes a fixed panel and a movable panel pivoted to the fixed panel and biasable between an extended position where the operating handle is stoppable by the fixed panel upon operation to rotate the worktable and a first included angle is defined between a cutting slot and a fence of the worktable and a received position where the operating handle is stoppable by the movable panel upon operation to rotate the worktable and a second included angle larger than the first included angle is defined between the cutting slot and the fence of the worktable. Thus, the miter saw achieves the effect of increasing the miter angle.

Power tool
The invention relates to powered cutting apparatus which includes a cutting unit mounted on one or more slide members and provided to perform a cutting action on a workpiece mounted on a base to which the one or more slide members are attacked by support legs. The apparatus includes at least one fence with a contact surface for the workpiece and the fence can be selectively positioned on any of a plurality of guide means provided on the base to aid in the performance of the cutting action.
