Miter fence positioner
A miter saw assembly includes a cutting tool configured to perform a cut along a cutting axis. A stop mechanism is linearly translatable in a first direction. A rotary motor includes a selectively rotatable rotor and a motion conversion mechanism configured to transform rotary motion of the rotor to linear motion of the stop mechanism in the first direction. A controller is configured to selectively rotate the rotor to cause linear translation of the stop mechanism toward or away from the cutting axis. A position detection system includes a visual sensor coupled to the stop mechanism and a ruler strip. The ruler strip includes a plurality of spaced apart position indicators configured for detection by the visual sensor in order to determine a position of the stop mechanism relative to the cutting axis of the cutting tool via position correlating perform by the controller.
Table saw fence with tension adjustment cam
A fence assembly of a saw device includes a fence, a slide mechanism coupled to one end of the fence, and a tensioning mechanism coupled to the other end of the fence. The fence assembly includes a handle that is supported on the slide mechanism via a cam. The handle is rotatable relative to the cam between a first position in which the fence assembly is fixed relative to the rails, and a second position in which the fence assembly is movable relative to the rails. The fence assembly includes a tension member that is coupled at one end to the handle and at the other end to the tensioning mechanism. The cam is rotatable relative to the slide mechanism about a cam rotational axis, and rotation of the cam relative to the cam rotational axis provides an adjustment of a tension force applied by the tension member.

UTILIZING A FENCE ASSEMBLY THAT PROVIDES SURFACES AT DIFFERENT ANGLES
Techniques utilize a fence assembly which includes a fence member constructed and arranged to (i) install on a saw base and (ii) provide a first surface that restricts movement of an object in a first direction when the fence member is installed on the saw base. The fence assembly further includes a stop member constructed and arranged to provide a second surface that restricts movement of the object in a second direction that is different from the first direction when the stop member is in a fixed position relative to the fence member. The fence member further includes positioning hardware constructed and arranged to position the stop member in the fixed position relative to the fence member. Actuation of the positioning hardware enables the stop member to be adjusted to accommodate different object for cutting.

POWER TOOL ASSEMBLY, POWER TOOL BASE AND WORKPIECE CLAMP ASSEMBLY THEREFOR
A power tool assembly includes a base having a work surface, which is configured to receive a workpiece. A workpiece clamp assembly is moveably mountable on the work surface. The workpiece clamp assembly has a moveable clamp mount configured to fix the workpiece claim assembly in a plurality of different positions on the work surface, a clamp arm being operatively engageable with the moveable clamp mount and configured to move in a direction towards the fence, and at least one locking pin moveable between a first position and a second with respect to the moveable clamp mount wherein in the first position the at least one locking pin is configured to fix the workpiece clamp assembly to the base and in the second position the at least one locking pin is configured to release the workpiece clamp assembly from the base.
SAWING DEVICE
A sawing device, in particular for separating long workpiece parts, has a saw blade and a retaining device for separated workpiece parts, wherein the retaining device has a retaining element, at least on the side of the saw blade facing the workpiece part that is to be separated, which retaining element is arranged ahead of the saw blade in the machining direction of the workpiece and movably in such a way that it is movable from an inactive position above the workpiece into an active position which reaches ahead of the front end of the workpiece.
