WOOD PRESERVATIVE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
A synergistic aqueous wood preservative composition comprising a copper compound and penflufen. The copper compounds of the compositions of the invention may be soluble, partially solubilized or micronized particles. The penflufen of the compositions of the invention may be solubilized, emulsified or particulate. The wood preservative compositions of the present invention are surprisingly provided as stable dispersions and confer surprising and unexpected resistance to treated wood and wood products.
WOOD PRESERVATIVES
A wood preservative composition and method for preserving wood by contacting wood with said composition comprising a polyurethane polymer, non-aqueous solvents, and a wood preservative active.
WOOD PRESERVATIVES
A method for preserving wood by contacting wood with a composition comprising a polyurethane polymer, non-aqueous solvents, and a wood preservative.
WOOD PRESERVATIVES
A wood preservative composition and method for preserving wood by contacting wood with said composition comprising a polyurethane polymer, non-aqueous solvents, and a wood preservative active.
Electron beam treatment for invasive pests
A system and method for the treatment of invasive pests includes an irradiation device that can generate an electron beam that is applicable to a tree infected by an invasive pest, wherein the electron beam provides an in-situ treatment for the tree infected by the invasive pest by killing the invasive pest via electron beam irradiation. One or more temperature sensors can be used to track the internal temperature of a tree surrogate. A differential temperature difference tracked by temperature sensor can be used to ensure that a reduction in temperature of the tree is attributable to the electron beam rather than increase in heat.
Wood preservative formulations comprising isothtazolones which provide protection against surface staining
The present invention provides a wood preservative formulation comprising an isothiazolone, an organic fungicidal timber decay preservative and an unsaturated carboxylic or sulphonic acid, salt or anhydride thereof. The formulations of the invention are surprisingly effective at protecting wood and other cellulosic substrates, in particular at providing prolonged protection against in-service surface staining. The invention also provides methods for treating wood and other cellulosic substrates with said formulations.
ENHANCED PERFORMANCE OF WOOD AND ENGINEERED WOOD PRODUCTS USING COMBINED DURABILITY AND FLAME RETARDANCY
A treatment process and wood products thereof including a product formulation of a single phase solution combining a wood preservative (durable component) with a Flame Retardant component (FR) to produce a durable Flame Retardant (dFR) treated wood product. The durable component comprises a range of copper based and non-copper based wood preservatives, while the FR component comprises alkali metal silicates and alkali metal aluminate compounds. The dFR working solution undergoes chemical impregnation (treatment) followed by a heat (fixation) process step that locks the chemical into the wood making it non-leachable. The dFR treated wood products are tested for their enhanced fire performance properties. When heated, wood undergoes thermal degradation and combustion producing gases, vapors, tars and chars. Using a cone calorimeter burn test method, dFR treated wood products show a significant reduction in heat release rate, mass loss rate and smoke generated values compared to untreated radiate pine.
Wood treatment solutions containing fungicides and tertiary alkanolamines and related methods, wood products and composition for protection against fungal organisms
The present invention provides a solution and related composition of matter and methods which synergistically improves a fungicide's effectiveness in resisting undesired fungal growth. The invention also provides wood and wood products which have been treated with the solution, method or compound.
ENVIRONMENT-FRIENDLY MILDEW PREVENTION METHOD FOR BAMBOO
The present disclosure provides an environment-friendly mildew prevention method for bamboo. The mildew prevention method for bamboo includes the following steps: soaking the bamboo in an acid solution to obtain a reaction system; subjecting the reaction system to a hydrolysis reaction to obtain a hydrolyzed product; and washing and drying the hydrolyzed product in sequence to obtain mildew-proof bamboo, where the acid solution is an inorganic acid solution or an organic acid solution; the inorganic acid solution has a mass concentration of 0.5-8%; the organic acid solution has a mass concentration of 2-40%. The present disclosure uses an inorganic acid solution or an organic acid solution to treat the bamboo, and reduces the content of starch in the bamboo through a hydrolysis reaction, thereby reducing a carbon source with starch as the main nutrient on which a mildew fungus depends and achieving the purpose of preventing the bamboo from mildewing.
ASSEMBLED BAMBOO SLEEPER AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
The present invention discloses an assembled bamboo sleeper, which is obtained by using a bamboo unit as a raw material, dried and modified at the temperature of 110-180° C., undergone coating treatment using a dopamine solution, adhesive dipping, curing and solidifying, assembling and gluing, further solidifying, further treatment using a dopamine solution, and anti-mildew and/or anti-corrosion and/or anti-insect treatment, and then fastened. The present invention further provides a preparation method for the foregoing bamboo sleeper. The bamboo sleeper prepared in the present invention is green and environmentally friendly, and applicable for ballasted tracks of railways and urban rail transit systems.
