DEVICE FOR COLLECTING SPLIT WOOD
A device for collecting split wood, having a plurality of bar elements, which each have a first and a second longitudinal portion, and a plurality of connecting elements, which connect the bar elements movably to one another. The second longitudinal portion of each bar element extends in a curved manner and the first longitudinal portion extends in a straight manner. The connecting elements cooperate with the second longitudinal portions, and a clamping element, which cooperates with the first longitudinal portions, is designed to firmly clamp the bar elements to a chopping block by their first longitudinal portions.
Wedge holder for log splitting
A wedge holder system and kit and method for splitting a log having a polymer foam block member with a concave top surface forming a basin with raised left and right longitudinal sides paralleling a center axis, the top surface designed to conform to a rounded side of a log. A planar bottom surface of the block member is designed to rest on a log cross section. At least one slot portion through the foam block member is designed to hold an at least one metal wedge member vertically to drive the metal wedge into a log. At least one V-shaped notch portion for holding wood vertically may be disposed within at least one exterior longitudinal side portion of the polymer foam block member. Polymer foam block members may be adjacent or coupled lengthwise or vertically.

Chopping aid
A chopping aid for use in chopping of wood includes an upper section in an upper part of the chopping aid which at least partly surrounds and supports in an upright position wood arranged in the chopping aid during chopping. A base section in a lower part of the chopping aid extends at least partially along the upper section, and the upper section is supported on top of the base section by springs, which provide a dampening characteristics against impacts on the upper section of the chopping aid.

LOG RETAINER APPARATUS
A log retainer apparatus is disclosed herein. The log retainer apparatus may include a plurality of retainer segments, where each retainer segment has a shield connected to a clamp to clamp to an edge of a top surface of a splitting block. The log retainer apparatus may also include a short strap to removably attach to shield or shields of at least a subset of the plurality of retainer segments, and a long strap to wrap around the clamps of the plurality of retainer segments to secure the log retainer apparatus to the splitting block.

Apparatus for splitting wood into kindling
A specialized wood splitting tool and handle attachment for a striking hand tool. The splitting tool uses leverage in addition to downward momentum of the cutting head to split wood. The metal handle and metal cutting head are preferably formed from a single piece of steel, in a perpendicular configuration similar to an adz. A splitting wedge blade within the handle exerts transverse shear forces to enhance splitting, and flat top surfaces of the cutting head and the handle near the joint provide a striking surface. A particularly advantageous handle extension attachment is disclosed that may be used with other striking hand tools as well as the wood splitting tool. A woodsman's hatchet that provides an additional blade perpendicular to a splitting wedge blade is also disclosed.

Chopping aid device
A chopping aid device for use in chopping of firewood prevents pieces of wood from spreading into the surroundings outside the chopping aid device during chopping. The chopping aid device includes a basket-like cuff frame for chopped wood. In order to make the chopping aid device durable against mishits and to prevent the blade of the axe from becoming blunt in case of mishits by the axe, the cuff frame is made of an elastomeric material providing dampening characteristics against impacts and an upper edge of the cuff frame is covered with a collar made of a harder material than the cuff frame and providing protection of the cuff frame against cuts. A method for manufacturing a chopping aid device is also provided.
