WOOD FIBER-GLASS COMPOSITE

The general inventive concepts relate to engineered wood products. The engineered wood products demonstrate improved properties including acoustic damping, fire resistance, and water absorption relative to similar engineered wood products that comprise only a single source of fibers. In contrast, the inventive engineered wood products include a combination of at least two types of fibers.

DRY PROCESS AT ROOM TEMPERATURE FOR MATERIAL RECYCLING OF WOOD FIBER MATERIALS

The invention provides a method for recycling material, such as rigid panels or soft board, based on natural fibers comprising grinding the board at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, by exclusively mechanical action to obtain bulk fibers. In some cases, the rigid board to be recycled may undergo a mechanical pre-treatment step of destructuration/deplanarisation prior to grinding.

Method for manufacturing three-dimensional products from a fiber-containing material using at least one forming tool and forming tool
20240416611 · 2024-12-19 ·

A method for manufacturing three-dimensional products with at least one inclined product portion made of a fiber-containing material using at least one forming tool and a forming tool are described. Vibrations are introduced via a device and this results in an improved compression of fiber-containing material in the region of inclined portions.

Articles made from lipophilic-rich cellulosic material and methods therefor

The invention relates to systems and techniques for manufacturing articles containing cellulosic material, a tackifier, and a binder, and related processes of making and using the cellulosic articles. In particularly exemplary embodiments, the manufactured articles are door skins, sometimes known as door facings, and doors made from the door skins. The article contains a lipophilic cellulosic material, a tackifier, and a binder.

CELLULOSE-BASED INSULATION AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
20250019964 · 2025-01-16 · ·

A method for making cellulose-based fire resistant insulation. The insulation includes a plurality of superstructures that establish voids in the insulation. The insulation may be blown in place while the superstructures maintain the void portion of the insulation. The insulation is made with fiber residuals, either alone or in combination with other cellulosic materials. The method of making the insulation includes the steps of treating the cellulosic materials with a fire retardancy chemical or chemicals and creating bonds between the fibers to form the superstructures.

Fibre based panels with a wear resistance surface

Building panels with a homogenous decorative surface having a wear layer comprising fibers, binders and wear resistant particles.

Rapidly pressing mixtures of paper and plastic to targeted thickness and density

A method may include pressing a mat including a blend of paper and plastic fragments by applying a pressure to the mat using a heated press such that the mat is compressed to a first thickness, where the pressure is greater than a critical pressure threshold such that at least a portion of a moisture content of the mat is in a super-heated liquid state. The method may include maintaining the pressure on the mat above the critical pressure threshold until at least a portion of the plastic fragments of the mat are melted. The method may include decreasing the pressure on the mat below the critical pressure threshold such that the mat expands to a second thickness greater than or equal to a target thickness, and such that the portion of the moisture content of the mat in the super-heated liquid state is converted to steam.

In order to make a component for use in a motor vehicle recyclable in its entirety and at low cost, the component is molded from a particle and/or fiber composite material, which has a first component and a second component. The first component includes particles and/or fibers, which are produced from a first renewable raw material or a first mixture of a number of renewable raw materials. The second component is a matrix material, which is produced from a second renewable raw material or a second mixture of a number of renewable raw materials. The particles and/or fibers of the first component are held together by the matrix material of the second component and are for example mixed and/or embedded therein.

SHEET MANUFACTURING APPARATUS

A sheet manufacturing apparatus can manufacture sheets using a small amount of energy even when making high grammage sheets.

A sheet manufacturing apparatus according to the invention is characterized by supplying 0.014 times or more and 0.28 times or less energy to heat and compress a laid web of fiber and resin, bond multiple fibers through the resin, and forma sheet with grammage of 80 g/m.sup.2 than the energy consumed to dry a web containing approximately the same weight percent of water as fiber and form a sheet with grammage of 80 g/m.sup.2.
