BIOMASS CLUMPING MATERIAL AND METHOD
A process for making an animal litter from a woody biomass starting material is described, with the performance amendments substantially located entirely on the outside surface of the woody biomass particles. The process may include the steps of densifying the biomass starting material, crumbling the densified biomass material; screening the densified biomass material for size; optionally adding a zeolite containing a scent; spray coating the sized, densified biomass particles with a surface adhesion agent; and powder dosing the sized, densified biomass particles and zeolites with a performance amendment comprising equal parts bentonite and guar gum.
Method of forming a composite material and a composite material
A method of forming a composite material includes: a) providing a substrate with fibres, lignin and hemicellulose; b) partially removing the lignin and hemicellulose from the substrate; and c) compressing the remaining substrate to form a compressed substrate. A composite material formed by the method is also provided.
Class-A fire-protected wood products inhibiting ignition and spread of fire along class-A fire-protected wood surfaces and development of smoke from such fire
In a lumber factory, an automated laminated veneer lumber (LVL) process supported by a lumber production line employing a cross-cutting and rip-sawing stage, a dip-coating stage, a spray-coating stage, a print-marking stage, and a stacking, packaging and wrapping stage. At the dip-coating stage, cross-cut and rip-sawed LVL product is automatically transported and submerged through a dipping reservoir containing clean fire inhibiting chemical (CFIC) liquid, and then wet-stacked and set aside to dry. Once dried, the dip-coated LVL products are returned to the production line and sprayed coated with a moisture, fire and UV protective coating at the spray-coating stage, and then passed through a drying tunnel for quick drying of the spray-coating to produce Class-A fire-protected LVL products. The Class-A fire-protected LVL products are stacked, packaged and wrapped at the stacking, packaging and wrapping stage into a package of Class-A fire-protected LVL products, ready for shipping.
Device And Methods For Making A Stair Tread And A Molded Curved Stair Tread
A device for making a molded stair tread is described. The device can have: a base; a pivoting assembly; a molding template connected to the pivoting assembly; a holding device connected to the molding template, the holding device having a clamp jaw and a pivot configured to rotate the holding device relative to the molding template; and a locking mechanism configured to hold the molding template and the holding device in an open configuration such that the holding device can accept a first part of the plastic sheet and configured to release the molding template and the holding device such that the holding device is in a securing configuration that secures, via the clamp jaw, the first part of the plastic sheet to the first side of the molding template at the first longitudinal edge of the molding template. Methods for making the stair tread are described as well as the molded stair tread.
Coating composition comprising a powder dispersed in a liquid carrier
A metal substrate being coated on at least a portion thereof with a liquid coating composition comprising a powder component dispersed in a liquid carrier, wherein the average particle size of the powder dispersed in the liquid carrier is less than 15 microns (m); wherein the powder component comprises a thermoset resin; wherein the thermoset resin comprises an acid functional polyester material; and wherein the coating composition is substantially free of bisphenol A (BPA), bisphenol F (BPF), bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (BADGE) and bisphenol F diglycidyl ether (BFDGE).
Coating composition comprising a thermoset resin and a thermoplastic resin
A powder coating composition comprising: a) a thermoset resin comprising an acid functional polyester material, b) a thermoplastic resin and c) a crosslinker material, wherein the coating composition is substantially free of bisphenol A (BPA), bisphenol F (BPF), bisphenol A diglycidylether (BADGE) and bisphenol F diglycidyl ether (BFDGE).
Process for producing wood-based OSBs having reduced emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
A process for treating wood strands suitable for producing OSBs includes treating the wood strands in water at a temperature in the range from 50 C. to 100 C. The present invention likewise relates to a process for producing wood-based OSBs, in particular wood-based OSBs having reduced emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including: a) production of wood strands from suitable timbers; b) treatment of at least part of the wood strands with water; c) drying of the wood strands which have been treated with the water; d) coating of the wood strands which have been treated with water and dried and coating of wood strands which have not been treated with water with at least one binder; e) scattering of the glue-coated wood strands on a conveyor belt; and f) pressing of the glue-coated wood strands to give a wood-based OSB.
Powder coating method and coated article
The invention relates to a method of coating an article and to a coated article. A method according to the invention comprises: providing a substrate coated with a first powder coating layer; optionally heating the substrate and first layer so as to at least partially melt or soften the first powder coating layer, wherein said first powder coating layer is not or only partially cured; applying a second powder coating layer on said first layer; and curing said first and second layer.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A WOODEN COMPOSITE MATERIAL BOARD, IN PARTICULAR AN MDF OR HDF BOARD
The disclosure relates to a method for producing a wooden composite material board in particular an MDF or HDF board, wherein a cake made of wood chips or wood fibres wetted with a binder is spread, which is subsequently pressed in a hot press to form a board of a desired thickness, wherein, before the pressing, a mixed powder made of colour pigments and a second binder is spread onto an upper side of the cake as a primer, wherein the cake is sprayed with water after the spreading of the mixed powder.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AND RECYCLING AN OBJECT CONSISTING OF A PANEL DURABLY PROVIDED WITH A SURFACE COVERING
The present invention pertains to a method for producing and recycling an object consisting of a panel durably provided with a surface covering, comprising bringing the panel and the surface covering in a spatially aligned relationship, providing a layer of hot melt adhesive between the panel and the surface covering, heating the hot melt adhesive to a temperature above its melting temperature, pressing the surface covering against the panel with the molten hot melt adhesive in between the panel and surface covering, cooling down the hot melt adhesive to a temperature below its melting temperature to form the object, and after an end-of-life of the object, heating the hot melt adhesive to a temperature above its melting temperature, and separating the panel from the surface covering.
