CERAMIC STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
A ceramic structure includes at least a region comprising mullite, a region comprising oxide which contains Si and Al richer in Si than the mullite, and a region comprising aluminum oxide, wherein an oxide-equivalent mole ratio SiO.sub.2/Al.sub.2O.sub.3 satisfies 0.1/0.9 to 0.7/0.3.
A METHOD OF MAKING A COMPOSITE MULTILAYER STRUCTURE
A method of making a multilayer structure is provided, comprising providing a substrate; providing a coating composition, comprising: a liquid carrier, a polycyclic aromatic additive and a MX/graphitic carbon precursor material having a formula (I); disposing the coating composition on the substrate to form a composite; optionally, baking the composite; annealing the composite under a forming gas atmosphere; whereby the composite is converted into an MX layer and a graphitic carbon layer disposed on the substrate providing the multilayer structure; wherein the MX layer is interposed between the substrate and the graphitic carbon layer in the multilayer structure.

Gypsum panels, systems, and methods
Gypsum panels, sheathing systems, and methods of making and using the same are provided. A gypsum panel includes a gypsum core associated with a first fiberglass mat having a continuous barrier coating, the coating penetrating a portion of the first fiberglass mat opposite the gypsum core, wherein gypsum penetrates a remaining fibrous portion of the first fiberglass mat such that voids in the first fiberglass mat are substantially eliminated. A building sheathing system includes at least two gypsum panels and a seaming component to provide a seam at an interface between the gypsum panels.
HOLE FORMER WITH GASKET LOCATING FEATURES FOR CAST MANHOLE STRUCTURES
A hole former for use in casting a gasket within an opening of a structure of the type used in underground water systems, such as a manhole. The hole former includes a body defining a central axis and an outer peripheral surface, with at least one gasket retention element projecting radially outwardly from the outer peripheral surface to interface with a corresponding locating feature of the gasket. In this manner, axial shifting or movement of the gasket with respect to the hole former is restricted, thereby positively locating and retaining the gasket on the hole former before and during the casting process. The hole former may have a compound curvature, with the gasket retained around the periphery of the hole former in a compound curved configuration.

LIQUID INFUSION MOLDED CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITES AND METHODS OF FORMING THE SAME
Methods for preparing ceramic products using liquid infusion technology and products formed from the same are provided. The methods and products include the incorporation of a particulate material and binder between ceramic fibers such that the fibers may be properly spaced during formation of the ceramic product. Ceramic matrix composite products can thereby be provided using near net shaping methods.
STABILIZING A CONCRETE FORM
A device for stabilizing a concrete form includes an anchoring member with a channel aligned along a first axis, and elongate members with cavities aligned along a second axis, the elongate members coupled to form a frame. The device may include an anchoring post for insertion through the channel of the anchoring member to secure the device to a surface, and sliders with elongate bodies for insertion into the cavities of the elongate members, where the sliders are affixed to an engagement member structurally configured for engaging the concrete form. First retaining members may be structurally configured to engage the anchoring post when inserted through the channel of the anchoring member thereby maintaining a position of the frame along the first axis. Second retaining members may be structurally configured to engage a slider when inserted into the elongate member thereby maintaining a position of the slider along the second axis.
Production of a refractory metal component
The embodiments relate to a method for the production of a refractory metal component by casting. The method includes providing a slip that contains a powder including at least one refractory metal or a compound thereof, in addition to at least one binding agent. The method further includes processing the slip by casting, (e.g., film casting or slip casting), to form at least one slip coating, the slip being devoid of a metal binding agent. A component was produced by this method. The embodiments may be used, in particular, on X-ray tubes, accelerator targets, or fusion reactors, such as for a surface of an X-ray anode, or a wall of a fusion reactor.
