Methods for manufacturing bulked continuous filament from recycled PET
A method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament that includes providing a polymer melt and separating the polymer melt from the extruder into at least eight streams. The multiple streams are exposed to a chamber pressure within a chamber that is below approximately 25 millibars, or another predetermined pressure. The streams are recombined into a single polymer stream. Polymer from the polymer stream is then formed into bulked continuous carpet filament.

A molding material supply device and a molding material supply method capable of supplying a degassed molding material to a molding apparatus at a desired timing are desired. According to the molding material supply device and method of the disclosure, a first discharge member is driven to discharge a molding material accommodated in a first accommodation member to a second discharge member through a through hole of a die, and a second discharge member configured by the first accommodation member and the die advances to discharge the molding material having been degassed in the second accommodation member to the molding apparatus from a molding material supply port.
Heat resistant polyimide film and preparation method thereof
A high temperature resistant polyimide film and its preparation method. The present invention relates to a polyimide film and its preparation method and solves the problems of honeycomb's and skin panel's core adhesive—polyimide film with insufficient heat resistance, no climbing of bonding core structure and adhesive fillet formation. The high temperature resistant polyimide film is made by polyimide solution, inorganic filler modifier and interface coupling agent by the steps of: under specific temperature and stirring conditions, adding inorganic filler modifier and interface coupling agent to polyimide solution, stirring to obtain the adhesive agent; filtering and degassing the adhesive agent, casting to a stainless steel drum with carrier cloth and release paper to obtain a self-supporting film; then heating and annealing to obtain the final polyimide film. The present invention is applied to high temperature resistant polyimide film and its preparation method.
Methods for manufacturing bulked continuous filament from colored recycled PET
A method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament which, in various embodiments, comprises: (A) grinding recycled PET bottles into a group of flakes; (B) washing the flakes; (C) identifying and removing impurities, including impure flakes, from the group of flakes; (D) adding one or more color concentrates to the flakes; (E) passing the group of flakes through an extrusion system while maintaining the pressure within the extrusion system below about 25 millibars; (F) passing the resulting polymer melt through at least one filter having a micron rating of less than about 50 microns; and (G) forming the recycled polymer into bulked continuous carpet filament that consists essentially of recycled PET.
PROCESSES AND APPARATUSES FOR CONDITIONING POLYMER PARTICLES FOR AN SSP REACTOR
Processes and apparatuses for producing polymer particles with a solid state polycondensation reactor and an underwater pelletization unit. The apparatuses use a pre-conditioning zone to adjust a temperature, crystallization in addition to dust, acetaldehyde and water content of the particles from a crystallization bin. Various inert gas streams can be provided from a purification unit to remove dust, acetaldehyde, water and adjust temperature and crystallinity of the particles, as also move the particles. The precondition zones have stages that allow for the particles to accurately achieve the desired SSP reactor inlet conditions
Process for operating a polymer powder degasser vessel
The present invention relates to a process for operating a polymer powder degasser vessel, and in particular provides a process for operating a polymer powder degasser vessel which vessel comprises a silo comprising a main vertical cylinder and a hopper at the bottom of the cylinder, there being a polymer powder withdrawal pipe connected to the hopper by which polymer powder is withdrawn from the hopper, and wherein the silo contains a polymer powder which occupies less than 45% of the volume of the silo and the polymer powder passes through the polymer powder degasser vessel in a mass flow manner, further wherein at least one of the following is applied: i) polymer powder is withdrawn from the hopper and recirculated to the silo, wherein the recirculation rate of the polymer powder is at least 30 percent per hour of the polymer powder present in the silo, and ii) a purge gas is provided to the silo via the polymer powder withdrawal pipe or via an inlet located on the hopper at a vertical height which is less than half of height of the hopper from its bottom end.
Method for polycondensation of recycled PET
A method for the polycondensation of recycled PET includes the steps of introducing a mass of recycled PET in a reaction chamber, applying heat to the mass of recycled PET introduced in the reaction chamber in order to reach a working temperature and maintain it for a treatment time, and moving the mass of recycled PET during at least part of the heat application step. The method further includes the step of applying vacuum to the reaction chamber during at least part of the heat application step. The heat application occurs by dielectric microwave heating of the mass of recycled PET.
METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING BULKED CONTINUOUS FILAMENT
A method for manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament, the method comprising: (1) reducing a chamber pressure within a chamber to below about 5 millibars; (2) after reducing the chamber pressure to below about 5 millibars, providing a polymer melt to the chamber; (3) separating the polymer melt into at least eight streams; (4) while the at least eight streams of the polymer melt are within the chamber, exposing the at least eight streams of the polymer melt to the chamber pressure of below about 5 millibars; (5) after exposing the at least eight streams of the polymer melt to the chamber pressure of below about 5 millibars, recombining the at least eight streams into a single polymer stream; and (6) forming polymer from the single polymer stream into bulked continuous carpet filament.

In a cost-effective and qualitatively better method for producing spacers for a winding unit of an electrical high-voltage device, at least two starting components are mixed together in a mixing chamber under vacuum to form a component mixture. The component mixture is transferred to an extrusion housing, likewise under vacuum, of an extruder in which a transport device is arranged and which is equipped with a mouthpiece delimiting an outlet opening. The extrudate exiting from the mouthpiece is cured by the addition of heat in a vacuum in order to obtain the spacers.
