SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING BULKED CONTINUOUS FILAMENT FROM COLORED RECYLED PET
A system comprising: (1) a grinding unit configured to receive and grind recycled PET bottles into a group of polymer flakes comprising up to about ten percent colored polymer flakes and balance substantially clear polymer flakes; (2) a washing unit configured to wash the group of polymer flakes; and (3) an extruder configured to extrude material in a plurality of different extrusion streams. The extruder may be further configured to: (1) receive a concentrate-polymer mixture comprising a mixture of the polymer flakes and a color concentrate; (2) melt the concentrate-polymer mixture to produce a polymer melt; (3) reduce a pressure within the extruder; and (4) pass the polymer melt through the extruder so that the polymer melt is divided into the plurality of extrusion streams. The system may then filter the polymer melt through at least one filter and form the polymer melt into bulked continuous carpet filament.
RESIN FILM MATERIAL, LAMINATED STRUCTURE COMPRISING RESIN FILM MATERIAL, RESIN COMPOSITION MANUFACTURING METHOD, RESIN FILM MATERIAL MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND LAMINATED STRUCTURE MANUFACTURING METHOD
The present invention provides a resin film material produced from a resin material that includes a laminate that includes a resin layer with an evaporated metal layer, the resin film material containing a metal in the evaporated metal layer in the form of particles, wherein the metal particles are dispersed in the resin film material, and the number of metal particles with an area-equivalent diameter of 200 m or more present per cm.sup.2 of the resin film material is 1 or less. It is preferable that the resin film material is produced from a resin material that is made of a laminate group that includes the laminate that includes a resin layer with an evaporated metal layer and a laminate that includes a metal layer-free resin layer.
FILAMENT PRODUCTION DEVICE AND METHOD
A device that recycles thermoplastics for producing a filament for fused deposition modelling devices (FDM) and respective operating method is provided. The crushed thermoplastic is introduced into the hopper, pushed by a screw, driven by the motor, inside the barrel, whose axial force is sustained by the axial bearing. The thermoplastic is melted with the assistance of electrical heating resistors and passes through a degassing zone connected to the vacuum pump. The thermoplastic is forced through the die, being cooled on a cooling tray having a water circulation system. The diameter of the filament is controlled by the puller based on the data obtained in the measurement system of the filament diameter. A microcontroller controls the entire process.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING BULKED CONTINUOUS FILAMENT FROM COLORED RECYCLED PET
Methods of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament which, in various embodiments, comprise: (A) grinding recycled PET bottles into a group of flakes; (B) washing the flakes; (C) identifying and removing impurities, including impure flakes, from the group of flakes; (D) adding one or more color concentrates to the flakes; (E) passing the group of flakes through an MRS extruder (400) while maintaining the pressure within the MRS portion (420) of the MRS extruder (400) below about 25 millibars; (F) passing the resulting polymer melt through at least one filter (450) having a micron rating of less than about 50 microns; and (G) forming the recycled polymer into bulked continuous carpet filament that consists essentially of recycled PET.
Process for the production of a sulfone polymer agglomerate from the recovery of expanded sulfone polymer
A process for the production of a polymeric agglomerate obtained from expanded sulfone polymer recovered from extrusion or injection molding processes of sulfone polymer, the agglomeration of said expanded sulfone polymer being effected in said process. With respect to the known art for the production of expanded sulfone polymers that use starting virgin sulfone polymers, the present invention offers the advantage of providing a recovered expanded sulfone polymer which can be used as starting material together with the corresponding virgin sulfone polymer.
System and method for producing plastic products from recycled mixed plastic waste and plastic product
Disclosed are plastic products from a recycled plastic mix of unidentified, unclean and unsorted mixed plastic waste made with a system comprising thermal and mechanical processing of the recycled plastic waste using continuous extrusion foaming, two-phase cooling, continuous metering of the pulling strength and automatic adjustment of the pulling speed and extrusion speed.
Powders comprising solid waste materials
Powder compositions containing processed solid waste are provided herein, as are products made from the compositions, and systems and methods for making the compositions and products.
Interlocking building blocks and mortarless interlocking building system
A building system including at least one block and further including at least one mortarless side panel including a finished outside surface and at least one dovetail protrusion on an opposing surface for joining the side panel to the at least one blocks, and a connector on each end of the panel for joining the side panel to other side panels, and at least one top cap including a finished top surface.
MULTILAYER STRUCTURE, AND SEPARATION METHOD AND RECYCLING METHOD THEREFOR
Provided are a multilayer structure and the like being superior in adhesiveness of an interlayer under high humidity and separability of a barrier layer in water, and even in a case in which the barrier layer is exposed to water in a separating and collecting step, being superior in viscosity stability after separating and collecting a resin that constitutes the barrier layer. The multilayer structure of the present invention is a multilayer structure including a barrier layer (A), a water-soluble layer (B), and an adhesive layer (C), in which: the adhesive layer (C) is laminated via the water-soluble layer (B) on one or both faces of the barrier layer (A); the barrier layer (A) contains a polyamide or an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (a1) as a principal component; and the water-soluble layer (B) contains an alkali metal ion (b1) at a content of 100 ppm or more and 2,000 ppm or less.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR HANDLING RECYCLABLE MATERIALS
Disclosed embodiments of a system for managing waste materials and tracking the portion of received recyclable materials that are recycled and/or monetized. The disclosed system may include smart balers; imaging devices, such as cameras or video cameras; barcode, QR, RFID or other near field scanners; and one or more processors operably connected to these devices. A processor is typically configured to determine what portion of incoming materials may be recyclable and/or what portion of those incoming recyclable materials are recycled and/or monetized.
