METHODS OF PRODUCING THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECTS FROM MATERIALS HAVING MULTIPLE MECHANISMS OF HARDENING
A method of forming a three-dimensional object is carried out by: (a) providing a carrier and an optically transparent member having a build surface, the carrier and the build surface defining a build region therebetween; (b) filling the build region with a polymerizable liquid, the polymerizable liquid including a mixture of (i) a light polymerizable liquid first component, and (ii) a second solidifiable component that is different from the first component; (c) irradiating the build region with light through the optically transparent member to form a solid polymer scaffold from the first component and also advancing the carrier away from the build surface to form a three-dimensional intermediate having the same shape as, or a shape to be imparted to, the three-dimensional object, and containing the second solidifiable component carried in the scaffold in unsolidified and/or uncured form; and (d) concurrently with or subsequent to the irradiating step, solidifying and/or curing the second solidifiable component in the three-dimensional intermediate to form the three-dimensional object.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MAKING AN ARTICLE
An apparatus for forming an injection molded article is disclosed. The apparatus includes a pumping system to deliver a silicone formulation to a mold, the silicone formulation having a viscosity of about 50,000 centipoise to about 2,000,000 centipoise. The mold has an exterior housing and an interior cavity therein, wherein the silicone formulation flows into the cavity of the mold. The apparatus further includes a source of radiation energy, wherein the radiation energy substantially cures the silicone formulation within the cavity of the mold to form the injection molded article. The present disclosure further includes a method of forming the injection molded article and a mold for an injection molded article.
Method for Molding Three-Dimensional Toy
A method for molding a three-dimensional toy includes selecting an upper die and a lower die each having a three-dimensional molding cavity, spreading a photosensitive molding glue on the inner wall of the molding cavity of each of the upper die and the lower die, closing the upper die and the lower die, placing the upper die and the lower die in an ultraviolet lamp box or irradiating the upper die and the lower die under the sun to solidify the photosensitive molding glue so as to mold a three-dimensional toy, and opening the upper die and the lower die to remove the three-dimensional toy from the upper die and the lower die.
Method for three-dimensional fabrication with feed through carrier
A method of forming a three-dimensional object, is carried out by (a) providing a carrier and a build plate, the build plate comprising a semipermeable member, the semipermeable member comprising a build surface with the build surface and the carrier defining a build region therebetween, and with the build surface in fluid communication by way of the semipermeable member with a source of polymerization inhibitor; (b) filling the build region with a polymerizable liquid, the polymerizable liquid contacting the build surface; (c) irradiating the build region through the build plate to produce a solid polymerized region in the build region, while forming or maintaining a liquid film release layer comprised of the polymerizable liquid formed between the solid polymerized region and the build surface, the polymerization of which liquid film is inhibited by the polymerization inhibitor; and (d) advancing the carrier with the polymerized region adhered thereto away from the build surface on the build plate to create a subsequent build region between the polymerized region and the build surface; (e) wherein the carrier has at least one channel formed therein, and the filling step is carried out by passing or forcing the polymerizable liquid into the build region through the at least one channel. Apparatus for carrying out the method is also described.
Continuous liquid interphase printing
A method of forming a three-dimensional object, comprises providing a carrier and an optically transparent member having a build surface, the carrier and the build surface defining a build region therebetween; filling the build region with a polymerizable liquid; irradiating the build region through the optically transparent member to form a solid polymer from the polymerizable liquid while concurrently advancing the carrier away from the build surface to form the three-dimensional object from the solid polymer, while also concurrently: (i) continuously maintaining a dead zone of polymerizable liquid in contact with the build surface, and (ii) continuously maintaining a gradient of polymerization zone between the dead zone and the solid polymer and in contact with each thereof, the gradient of polymerization zone comprising the polymerizable liquid in partially cured form. Apparatus for carrying out the method is also described.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEASURING A FLOWING PROPERTY IN A RESIN TRANSFER MOLDING SYSTEM
The present disclosure provides a system for measuring a permeability/porosity ratio of a fiber preform in a molding system. In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the system includes a mold, a detection device, a resin-supplying source, and a computing device. The mold includes an upper mold and a lower mold forming a mold cavity. The resin-supplying source is configured to input a molding resin into a preform in the mold cavity. The detection device is configured to detect a flow front of the molding resin at a first position and a second position in the mold cavity. The computing device is configured to calculate a flowing property of the molding resin into the preform based on the first position, the second position, a travelling time of the flow front from the first position to the second position, and a pressure difference driving the flow front to travel from the first position to the second position.
Method for forming film
A mold assembly for forming a film includes a transparent bottom mold, a top mold, a case, and a lighting member. The transparent bottom mold defines a cavity for receiving a workpiece and a plurality of liquid compositions. The top mold is matched with the bottom mold to accommodate the workpiece between the bottom mold and the top mold. The case receives the bottom mold and the top mold placed therein. Air in the case is exhausted from the case to coat the plurality of liquid composition on the workpiece. The lighting member emits light on the liquid compositions to solidify the liquid compositions to form a film on the workpiece.

A mold, a molding apparatus, and a method for manufacturing articles or components is used to manufacture an article or component of the article that at least partially comprises an ultraviolet (UV) curable material. The mold and apparatus comprise at least one mold wall formed of a cyclic olefin copolymer, which is in contact with UV radiation curable material and allows the article or component of the article to be exposed to UV radiation for a period of time in order to provide for at least partial cure thereof.

Apparatus for carrying out the method is also described.

A polymerizable liquid, or resin, useful for the production by additive manufacturing of a three-dimensional object of polyurethane, polyurea, or a copolymer thereof, is described.
