Automated rubber molding and de-molding
Molded rubber objects may be molded and de-molded by defining both a desired final form for the molded rubber object and a tab extending from the final form of the molded rubber object using a cavity in a mold. Rubber pellets may be dispensed in predetermined amounts at desired location(s) within the cavity to provide the rubber needed to form the molded rubber object. Heat and pressure may be applied to the mold to cause the rubber pellets to fill the cavity defining both the desired final form of the molded rubber object and the tab. After the heat and pressure has been applied, a gripping device may grasp the tab and move the tab in a direction and with sufficient force to peel the rubber object from the mold cavity. If desired, the tab may be removed from the molded rubber object.

A centrifugal hollow basic body forming method includes forming a parison that includes a superficial frozen layer and an inner uncured layer, by filling a model with material; and centrifuging to form the hollow basic body by causing the inner uncured layer to separate from the parison under centrifugal force generated by a centrifugation device and provide a separated uncured material. A centrifugal hollow basic body forming device includes a molding device structured to form a parison that includes a superficial frozen layer and an inner uncured layer; and a centrifugation device that generates a centrifugal force effective to separate the inner uncured layer from the superficial frozen layer as separated uncured material and form the hollow basic body, and that is provided with an overflow chamber for collecting the separated uncured material.
Apparatus for making preformed seals
A method of making a preformed seal includes coupling first and second sections of a mold to define a mold cavity. A cross-sectional shape of the mold cavity corresponds to a cross-sectional shape of the preformed seal. The method also includes providing a reservoir that has a port in flow communication with a reservoir cavity that extends to a parting surface. The method further includes filling the reservoir cavity with wet sealant such that the wet sealant is flush with the parting surface and a bead of wet sealant protrudes from the port. Additionally, the method includes coupling the reservoir to the first and second sections such that the reservoir cavity is in flow communication with the mold cavity at the parting surface, injecting wet sealant from a nozzle through the reservoir into the mold cavity, and curing the wet sealant in the mold cavity to make the preformed seal.
Method for producing a structural component
A method is specified for producing a structural component, in particular for an aircraft, ground vehicle, or watercraft, or for a rotor blade of a wind turbine, in which method an arrangement of fibers and plastic material is laid in a mold and subjected to an increased pressure and an increased temperature, wherein a mold is used which comprises at least one recess in which a reinforcing element is arranged. The object is to be able to cost-effectively produce a structural component of this type. For this purpose, it is provided that the reinforcing element is laid in the recess together with a core, wherein a differential volume between the recess and core, at least in a predetermined region, is chosen such that it is smaller than a segment of the reinforcing element arranged in said region by a predetermined amount.

According to one embodiment, a mold includes a base, a first concave pattern, a second concave pattern, and a third concave pattern. The base includes a first surface and a pedestal projecting from the first surface. The pedestal includes a first region and a second region disposed outside the first region. The first concave pattern is formed in the first region. The second concave pattern is formed in the second region. The third concave pattern extends from the first region to the second region.

The present invention teaches an assembly and corresponding method for producing a plastic part having a sandwich mold including an upper half and a lower half. Each of the halves exhibit an opposing inner face which, upon assembling, collectively define an interior cavity corresponding to a configuration of the part to be produced. An insert sheet of a polymer material (typically a thermoplastic at room temperature) is placed upon a lower of the mold halves and prior to assembling the upper mold half. A heat source is communicated to the closed mold to cause the insert sheet to melt into the cavity. A cool source is subsequently communicated to the closed mold to cause the thermoplastic to harden within the cavity and prior to opening of the mold and removal of the finished part.

An apparatus (2) for forming a noodle (20) within an elongate groove (14) of a product is provided comprising an extrusion system comprising at least one extruder nozzle (4) through which noodle material (16) is extruded, at least one levelling device (6) adjacent the extruder nozzle (4) which levels the noodle material (16), and a gantry system which moves the extruder nozzle (4) and the levelling device (6) along the elongate product groove (14), such that noodle material (16) is extruded along the product groove (14) and is levelled to form at least part of the noodle (20) within the product groove (14).
