Polymer Blend, a Film or Sheet Made Therefrom, Articles Made from the Film or Sheet or Pipe and Method of Preparing a Film or Sheet
A polymer blend comprising from 20 to 90 parts by weight, based on the total weight of the polymer blend, polyvinyl chloride resin; and from 10 to 80 parts by weight, based on the total weight of the polymer blend, a flexible acrylic polymer is provided. Also provided are films or sheets or pipe made from the polymer blend, a capstock made from the film and a method for preparing a film.
PROCESS FOR IMPROVED COMPOSITE BOARD MANUFACTURE
The invention is directed to a process for the manufacture of composite wood structures, which provides for increased production rates and machinability. More particularly, the process comprises combining wood particles with a composition comprising an aqueous protein and diluent dispersion.
MOULD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SLABS AND RELATIVE FORMING METHOD
A mould for the production of slabs in granular material and/or grits and/or sands with curing resins comprising a flat bottom, a perimeter framework operatively or rigidly connected to the flat bottom wherein the perimeter framework comprises a plurality of side walls, the flat bottom and the perimeter framework delimiting a compartment for forming the slab; a plant for the production and a method of forming slabs in granular material and/or grits and/or sands with curing resins are also provided.
Sleeper for a track superstructure
The invention relates to a sleeper for the track superstructure, which is manufactured in one piece from a plastic material, with the sleeper having an elongated base shape with two end sections, which are connected by a middle section of the sleeper and held at a distance and on their upper side in each case one contact surface is provided for in each case one rail to be supported on the respective end section with a reinforcement extending in the longitudinal direction of the sleeper being embedded into the middle section. In order to design such a plastic sleeper such that it has optimised strength and can be reliably manufactured even using cost-effective plastic/sand mixtures having a high proportion of sand, the invention proposes that the reinforcement extends over the length of the middle section, that the reinforcement is in each case anchored in the respective end section in an edge region of the end sections assigned to the middle section and in that the reinforcement is wholly or partially arranged in the upper quarter of the height of the sleeper.
Contact lens using electrospun polymers
A method for making an improved contact lens with the steps of providing a mold with a space between the top surface and a bottom surface, and positioning a mat in the space of the mold, providing a bead of liquid polymer of predetermined size at a predetermined location on the surface of the mat, pressing the bead of liquid polymer into the mat between the top surface and the bottom surface of the mold to form an optical zone framed by a mat peripheral zone, exposing the optical zone and the peripheral zone with U-V radiation to harden the optical zone into a composite improved contact lens, removing the cross-linked improved contact lens from the mold, processing the peripheral zone surrounding the optical zone to have a fenestration surface having holes, the holes being through holes with predetermined diameters selected to pass larger proteins, lipids, metabolites.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A CELLULOSE PRODUCT BY A PRESSURE MOULDING APPARATUS, PRESSURE MOULDING APPARATUS AND CELLULOSE PRODUCT
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a cellulose product having a flat or non-flat product shape by a pressure moulding apparatus comprising a forming mould. The forming mould has a forming surface defining said product shape, The method comprises the steps of:
arranging a cellulose blank containing less than 45 weight percent water in said forming mould; heating said cellulose blank to a forming temperature in the range of 100° C. to 200° C.; and pressing said cellulose blank by means of said forming mould with a forming pressure acting on the cellulose blank across said forming surface, said forming pressure being in the range of 1 MPa to 100 MPa.
FILTER HOUSING AND FILTER COMPRISING SAME
Disclosed is a filter housing which is a molded body of a fluororesin composition in which carbon nanotubes are dispersed in a fluororesin, wherein the fluororesin composition comprises 0.01 to 2.0% by mass of the carbon nanotubes.
Cold Press Molded Body Containing Carbon Fiber and Glass Fiber, and Manufacturing Method Thereof
Provided is a cold press molded body having excellent fastening strength and fastening stability as well due to the use of a discontinuous carbon fiber and a discontinuous glass fiber for adjusting the volume, preferably the volume resistivity, of an end region (flowing region).
Use of an air permeable composite sheet material for propagation plugs for organic production
The present invention relates to the production of propagation plugs, primarily small blocks of sphagnum for the growing of cuttings and seed plants, and of the type consisting of a cylindrical block having an envelope of paper or a similar material and an associated filling of sphagnum or a corresponding substrate material. The paper is an air permeable composite sheet material comprising a) a biodegradable nonwoven sheet material; and b) a hot melt adhesive comprising at least 50% w/w of one or more biodegradable bioplastics. The hot melt adhesive is supplied to at least a part of a face of the biodegradable nonwoven sheet material.
Powdery-material feeding device and powdery-material feeding method
A powdery-material feeding device is configured to feed a powdery material to a compression-molding machine configured to obtain a molded product by filling a die bore with the powdery material and to compress the powdery material with punches. The powdery-material feeding device includes a detector configured to detect a biologically-originated foreign matter mixedly contained in the powdery material to be fed to the compression-molding machine, and a controller configured to control to remove the powdery material mixedly containing the biologically-originated foreign matter detected by the detector to avoid feeding of the powdery material mixedly containing the biologically-originated foreign matter to the compression-molding machine, or to control to stop the feeding of the powdery material to the compression-molding machine.
