Rear backup system for a vehicle

A rear backup system for a vehicle includes a rear backup video camera and a display device including a video display screen operable to display video images viewable by a driver of the vehicle. When a transmission of the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear to commence a backup event, video backup images derived from image data captured by the rear backup video camera are displayed at the video display screen of the display device. Display of the video backup images continues after shifting of the transmission out of reverse gear. Display of the video backup images at the video display screen ceases once a threshold condition is met. The threshold condition may include a threshold period of time elapsing after the transmission has been shifted out of reverse gear. The rear backup video camera continues to capture image data at least until the threshold condition is met.

FLEXIBLE DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY AND METHODS
20190159787 · 2019-05-30 ·

Illustrative methods of manufacturing flexible drive shaft assemblies for preparing bone can include steps such as providing, receiving or manufacturing a mold. Injecting a first polymeric material into the mold to form a coupling member, the coupling member adapted for attachment to a torque-providing driving tool. Injecting a second polymeric material into the mold to form a work member, the work member adapted to interface with the bone to prepare the bone. The method can further include injecting a third polymeric material into the mold in an overmolding process to form a flexible shaft extending from the coupling member to the work member. The assemblies resulting from such methods can include a flexible shaft that is adapted to transmit a majority of a torque received from a torque-providing driving tool through the flexible shaft. In some examples, the flexible shaft can include a solid polymeric shaft.

Active aero system in-mold assembly hinge modular frame

A manufacturing process for an active grille shutter arrangement including in-mold assembly of an active aero hinge modular frame that allows for the joining of multiple components that are to be assembled directly out of the molding process tooling. These components could be the vane end pivots, vane end stops, drive linkages, frame end stops, etc. Final assembly of the system is facilitated by geometrical considerations and molding material considerations in the in-mold assembly (IMA) design.

Cuboctahedron lattice materials

A method for the design, manufacture, and assembly of modular lattice structures composed of cuboctahedron unit cells.

This patent disclosure relates to a snus container (1), comprising: a body (11) defining a first compartment (110); a first lid (12) pivotably coupled to the body (11) to be able to pivot about a first pivot axis (PI) to and from a closing position in which the first lid (12) closes the first compartment (110), the first lid (12) defining a second compartment (120) separated from the first compartment (110), and a second lid (13) pivotably coupled to the first lid (12) to be able to pivot about a second pivot axis (P2) to and from a closing position in which the second lid (13) closes the second compartment (120). A method (S0) of manufacturing said snus container (1) and a mould (100) to be used in said method (S0) are disclosed also.

One-piece hinged closure for equipping a container

A mold can form a one-piece container closure by injection molding. The closure may have a base portion that inwardly defines an opening centered about a base portion longitudinal axis and a hinged cap that is linked to the base portion by an outside hinge member. The hinge member may have two opposite ends that are respectively connected to the base portion and the cap, thus defining an elongated hinge member therebetween. A mold may include two parts which respectively define two internal cavities facing each other along a longitudinal axis of alignment that coincides with the base portion longitudinal axis. The two mold parts my be movable along the longitudinal axis of alignment between a closed position where they define together a mold jointing plane and an open position where they are spaced apart from each other for demolding the closure.

Method of manufacturing a composite skin-foam-carrier component for a motor vehicle and composite skin-foam-carrier component for a motor vehicle

The present disclosure relates to a method of producing a composite skin-foam-carrier component for a motor vehicle, including the steps of injection-molding a carrier having one or more airbag flaps delimited by a hinge area and by a predefined tear line, wherein a raised contour with a groove-shaped cross-section is created along a segment of the tear line, producing a foam layer between a skin and the injection-molded carrier, producing gaps in the raised contour by guiding a tool over the raised contour after the production of the foam layer, and removing a portion of the raised contour. The present disclosure also relates to a composite skin-foam-carrier component for a motor vehicle.
