Pipe with an outer wrap

This disclosure relates generally to corrugated pipe, and more particularly to corrugated pipe with an outer wrap. In one embodiment, a pipe includes an axially extended bore defined by a corrugated outer wall having axially adjacent, outwardly-extending corrugation crests, separated by corrugation valleys. The pipe also includes an outer wrap applied to the outer wall. The outer wrap may include fibers and plastic. The outer wrap may span the corrugation crests producing a smooth outer surface.

STREAMER FILLER MATERIAL AND PROCESS
20180002526 · 2018-01-04 ·

This disclosure presents a streamer filler material that is a low density gel formed from a two-part, mix-curable polymer, and methods of making streamers using such materials. One embodiment of the filler material features a two-part silicone gel mixed with a paraffinic oil. The two-part silicone gel can make up 15% to 25%, by weight or volume, of the mixture. Methods of making such materials include forming a first unreactive mixture having a first reactant, promoter, and/or catalyst and a second unreactive mixture having a second reactant, promoter, and/or catalyst and mixing the first and second mixtures in a paraffinic oil system to make a gel. The streamer can be loaded with the filler by pumping or extruding the mixture.

A device manufactures an electrode strip for a battery including a current collector strip and at least one layer of electrochemically active composite material on either side of the current collector strip. The device includes an extruder including a sheath, an extrusion head, and an extrusion screw. The extrusion screw includes an outer tube and an inner tube that are coaxial and fitted into one another. The outer tube is mounted so as to be rotatably movable relative to the sheath. The inner tube is stationary relative to the sheath and includes an outlet located upstream of the extrusion head. Moreover, the manufacturing device includes advancing and unwinding structure to convey the current collector strip through the inner tube and up to the extrusion head.

Methods and machines for making oral products

A method of forming an oral product includes extruding a mixture, conveying the extruded mixture through one or more pairs of forming rollers, and cutting the extruded mixture into one or more oral products. The mixture can include polymer and at least one flavorant, sweetener, active ingredient, or combination thereof. The extruded mixture forms an extrudate having a predetermined cross-sectional shape. The one or more pairs of forming rollers abut to define a passage there between as each forming roller rotates. The passage has a cross-sectional shape corresponding to the predetermined cross-sectional shape. The method can be performed using a machine including an extruder, one or more pairs of forming rollers, and a cutting device.

METHODS OF MAKING UV REFLECTIVE PARTICLES

Described herein are UV reflective particles, and methods of forming UV reflective particles, comprising extruding a film having a plurality of alternating layers of polycarbonate (PC) and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), wherein each layer is less than 150 nm thick, and grinding the film into particles having a median particle size less than 200 microns.

MULTI-LUMEN CATHETER AND METHOD OF ITS MANUFACTURE

A catheter assembly is constructed by reflow bonding an inner liner and an outer layer. The inner liner defines at least one lumen. The inner liner is made of a gamma-irradiated polymeric material that includes a polyether block amide and a gamma radiation activated cross-linking agent.

Natural fibers and powdery polypropylene homopolymer based composition

A composition that includes: (a) from 65 to 85% by weight of polypropylene homopolymer in powder form, the average particle size of which is micrometric, (b) from 14 to 30% by weight, preferably 14 to 25% by weight, of natural fibers less than or equal to 2 mm in length, and (c) from 1 to 3% by weight of compatibilizer, its uses for the preparation of a composite material by extrusion, wherein this composite material is useful for preparing a part by injection, in particular a vehicle part whose rigidity is improved.

VULCANIZING AGENT AND USE THEREOF

A vulcanizing agent is added during the processing of a polymer, and can form a crosslinking structure network in the polymer, thereby improving the mechanical properties of the material. Furthermore, the crosslinking agent can also de-crosslink the polymer material at a high temperature, and after being cooled, same can be crosslinked again to produce a network structure, thus endowing the polymer material with thermoplasticity for repeated processing.
