Controlled pressure enclosure
The present invention relates to an external cooling system for a molten film tube produced by a blown film tubular extrusion process, comprised of one or more enclosures with one or more respective cavities that directly receive a portion of cooling gas emanating from one or more associated cooling elements. Each enclosure includes a port containing a variable exhaust device and optional flow buffer, acting to maintain a pressure differential between the cavity and an adjacent inside volume of the molten film tube, adjustable to optimize molten film tube stability cooling element efficiency and spaced apart dimension between cooling elements. Significant increases in production speeds are achieved with improved film quality over an increased range of tubular film sizes, down to a minimum size which occurs when operating at zero internal to molten film tube pressure.

ORIENTED BIODEGRADABLE POLYURETHANES
Provided are oriented biodegradable thermoplastic polyurethane films. The films may be prepared by extruding and drawing biodegradable polyurethane films. The polyurethanes may be prepared from biodegradable polyols and/or biodegradable chain extenders. The films possess high tensile strength yet are degradable under biological conditions. The films may be utilized in the fabrication of devices, particularly implantable medical devices.
Method of making 3D tube and 3D tube made thereby
A method of making a 3D tube and the 3D tube made thereby. The method comprises: inserting a deflated pre-formed bladder into the 3D tube; and inflating the pre-formed bladder to deform the 3D tube and make the 3D tube have a substantially similar shape as that of the pre-formed bladder inflated.
Apparatus for Producing Films Stretched In-Line
The invention relates to an apparatus for producing tubular films stretched in-line by blow molding with an extruder, a film blowing line, a lay-flat unit, an oscillating haul-off unit, and a stretching line for monoaxially stretching the film laid flat in machine direction. According to the invention, the stretching line is arranged above the extruder between the lay-flat unit and the oscillating haul-off unit.
DEVICE FOR BLOWING AND STRETCHING PLASTIC PACKAGING FILM AND METHOD THEREOF
A device and method for blowing and stretching a plastic film are provided. A first blow-expanding mechanism subjects a primitive plastic film made of PVC, PLA, or PET to extrusion at a temperature of 140° C.-180° C. and primary blow-expansion to form a volume in which the primitive plastic film has a lateral opening ratio of 1:1. Front-stage press rollers and middle-stage press rollers then subject the primitive plastic film to primary longitudinal press-flattening and pull-stretching, followed by heating and blow-expanding by the second blow-expansion mechanism at a temperature of 160° C.-220° C. and a pressure of 1.1-1.6 atm to achieve a volume in which the primitive plastic film has lateral opening ratio of at least 2:1, further followed by reduction of temperature to a temperature of 10° C.-20° C. for shape fixing to form a shaped plastic film. Finally, rear-stage press rollers subject the shaped plastic film to secondary longitudinal press-flattening and pull-stretching.
