20200086089 · 2020-03-19 ·

A device for guiding and supporting a stent delivery catheter and other catheters is disclosed. The device may comprise a tubular guiding member and an elongated positioning member extending in a proximal direction beyond the tubular guiding member for advancing and retracting the tubular guiding member in distal and proximal directions. A distal portion of the elongate positioning member may be coupled to the proximal portion of the tubular guide. In embodiments, the device includes a ribbon having a distal portion and a proximal portion. In embodiments, the distal portion of the ribbon extends distally into the tubular guiding member and the proximal portion of the ribbon overlays an inner surface of the elongate positioning member.

Customized and selective decoration of internal tube-like surfaces using pre-printed films with splinter resistant property

Methods and systems of customized and selective decoration of internal tube-like surfaces using pre-printed films with splinter resistant property are described. The method of adhering a film to an internal surface of a tube-like structure. The structure may have a hollow interior defined by the internal surface. The method may be carried out by providing a pre-printed film comprising first and second sides and an adhesive layer adhered to at least a portion of the first side. The pre-printed film may be positioned at least partially within the hollow interior with the adhesive layer positioned adjacent to the internal surface of the tube-like structure. The adhesive layer may be adhered to the internal surface of the tube-like structure.

Expandable pipe including a liner for restoring a conduit

An expandable pipe for restoring a damaged pipe is provided. The expandable pipe includes a liner formed of thermoplastic polyurethane, and grout material applied to the exterior surface of the liner. The exterior surface includes a plurality of flared tips and grooves, and each groove is located between adjacent flared tips. The grout material is disposed on the flared tips and in the grooves of the liner. The method used to restore the damaged pipe includes clamping the liner with the grout material on a puller-sealer fixture having a U-shaped cross-section to prevent debris from entering the interior of the liner, and pulling the puller-sealer fixture and liner through the damaged pipe. The grout material expands in volume upon exposure to moisture, ultra violet radiation, heat, and/or ultrasonics, and fills cracks or other imperfections and voids along the interior surface of the conduit, caused by corrosion, erosion, or other circumstances.

A moisture absorbing layer is adhered to a surface of the heat shrinkable tube with the heat shrinkable tube and adhered moisture absorbing layer configured for radial contraction from a first expanded condition to a second contracted condition upon application of heat.

Method and apparatus for application of thermosetting tape on surfaces

There is provided a method for applying thermosetting tape on contoured resilient surfaces off an object which comprises biasing selected section(s) of the resilient member to minimize tape and object distortion. There is also provided a tape laying apparatus configured to enable the optimization of automatic tape application on resilient contoured surfaces and minimize tape and object distortion.

METHODS AND APPARATUS TO FORM VENTING PATHWAYS IN PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVES FOR LAMINATE STACKS
20200047477 · 2020-02-13 ·

Methods and apparatus to form venting pathways in pressure sensitive adhesives for laminate stacks are disclosed. An example method includes forming a laminate stack including a gas permeable nonwoven layer and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer. The pressure sensitive adhesive layer has a first surface and a second surface located opposite the first surface. The first surface contacts the gas permeable nonwoven layer. The method further includes processing the laminate stack by reducing a ductility of the pressure sensitive adhesive layer such that venting pathways are formed in the pressure sensitive adhesive layer in response to a mechanical strain applied to the pressure sensitive adhesive layer via a trapped gas. The venting pathways extend through a thickness of the pressure sensitive adhesive layer to enable the trapped gas to pass through the pressure sensitive adhesive layer from the second surface to the first surface.

SHEET LAMINATE AND PRODUCTION METHOD FOR SHEET LAMINATE
20200047398 · 2020-02-13 ·

A sheet laminate that can be easily affixed to a bonded surface and which can enhance handleability. The sheet laminate (1) includes a pair of sidewall parts (3), each extending toward the rear surface (2b) side from a pair of mutually opposing edges of the main body part (2). The pair of sidewall parts 3 have a curved shape projecting outward with respect to the main body part (2). Including such a sidewall part (3) makes it possible to affix the sheet laminate (1) to the B-pillar (50) by sandwiching the side surfaces (50b) of both sides of the B-pillar (50) having a bonded surface (50a) by using the curved shape of the pair of sidewall parts (3) while covering the bonded surface (50a) with the design surface of the main body part (2). As a result, the sheet laminate (1) can be affixed easily to the bonded surface (50a), which enhances handleability of the sheet laminate (1).
