A method of manufacturing a tire product comprising: a step of preparing a core-assembly 4 of a rigid core 2 and a rubber member 3 formed on the rigid core 2, wherein the rigid core 2 is attached to a spindle device 7, and the rubber member 3 is to be vulcanization-molded, and constitutes all or a portion of a green tire, a step of conveying the core-assembly 4 from the spindle device 7 into a mold 50, and a step of vulcanization-molding the rubber member 3 on the rigid core 2 in the mold 50. The conveying of the core-assembly includes obtaining the weight of the rubber member 3 included in the core-assembly 4.

A method for controlling the manufacturing of tires for wheels of vehicles includes: extracting a cured tire from a curing station, in which the cured tire has accumulated heat during a curing process; and verifying the presence of possible defects or imperfections in that cured tire. The verification includes detecting first electromagnetic radiations representative of a heat emission from different portions of the cured tire while the cured tire frees the accumulated heat; providing at least one output signal representative of the first electromagnetic radiations detected to allow an analysis of the cured tire and to verify the presence of the possible defects or imperfections. A plant for the manufacturing of tires for wheels of vehicles is also described.
PROCESS AND PLANT FOR BUILDING GREEN TYRES FOR VEHICLE WHEELS
A process for building different models of green tyres for vehicle wheels, by using elementary semi-finished products, in a building plant including a plurality of workstations is described. The process includes building a first carcass structure of a first model of tyre on a first forming support, in a first workstation, the first carcass structure including at least one first carcass ply obtained from a first elementary semi-finished product, and at least one first pair of annular reinforcing inserts. The process includes the delivery of the first forming support to a bypass device to go beyond at least one second workstation without transiting through it. A plant suitable for allowing the aforementioned process to be carried out is also described.

An apparatus for manufacturing tires for vehicle wheels includes devices designed to form a green tire, a vulcanization mold having holding walls defining a molding cavity, and devices for transferring the green tire into the molding cavity. The vulcanization mold includes a plurality of vent valves, at least one of which includes a duct and a closure member having a closing head that is axially movable relative to the duct. The closing head is movable between a closed position, at which the closing head forms a contact seat, and an open position, at which the closing head and inner wall confine a passage for connection with the molding cavity.

A forming drum body to which a tire component is bonded after completion of a forming operation in an operation station is temporarily placed in a placement apparatus. While the forming drum body is temporarily placed in the placement apparatus, the mass of the green tire is inspected by a mass meter as a predetermined quality of a green tire formed by the tire component bonded to the forming drum body during forming or after completion of the forming, and the profile shape of the green tire is inspected by a profile sensor.

The method comprises the steps of operating the plurality of modules in the first manufacturing mode, progressively switching over modules from the first to the second manufacturing mode, operating the modules that have been switched while simultaneously operating modules that have not been switched. The method further comprises the steps of providing a joint in a strip, and switching over at least one module from the first manufacturing mode to the second manufacturing mode at arrival of the joint.

A tire building machine for producing tire components and a method for providing human access to said tire building machine are provided. The tire building machine comprises a machine housing that defines a production area. The tire building machine further comprises an exchange station for exchanging production materials or tools with the tire building machine on a transport unit. The exchange station comprises a docking space for docking said transport unit, a floor, and an access portal in the machine housing for passing the transport unit over the floor into and out of the docking space. The docking space defines a walkway that is humanly accessible via the access portal and that, at the floor, is free of obstacles related to the docking of the transport unit when the transport unit is removed from the docking space.
