Process for producing tyres capable of reducing cavity noise and set of tyres obtained thereby

The process for producing tyres comprises arranging no more than four sets of noise-reducing elements, each set being associated with a respective dimension L.sub.x different from each other; feeding in succession a set of tyres for vehicle wheels, having different values C of the inner circumferential extension; for each inner circumferential extension value, determining a respective number n.sub.x of noise-reducing elements for each set of noise-reducing elements, with x ranging from 1 to N, wherein for at least one value of the inner circumferential extension at least two respective numbers n.sub.x differ from 0; for each tyre, collecting from each set of noise-reducing elements the respective number n.sub.x of noise-reducing elements and applying the collected noise-reducing elements in circumferential sequence along an inner surface of the tyre, with dimension L.sub.x oriented circumferentially.

TIRE UNIFORMITY TESTING SYSTEM

A tire uniformity testing machine that includes a base, a pair of vertical spaced apart columns supporting an upper cross frame member. The base carries a load wheel carriage movable towards and away from a testing station. The vertical uprights establish a peripheral footprint plane that does not extend beyond a plane that is tangent to an outer rolling surface of the load wheel when it is redirected. The upper frame member includes clearance spaces and cutouts that enable at least a portion of an upper chuck to move into the upper frame member and a super structure mounted to a top of the cross member that mounts at least a portion of an actuator for translating the upper chuck. The configuration establishes a machine height that enables the machine to be loaded into a standard shipping container and reduces the overall footprint of the tire uniformity machine without compromising its ability to precisely sense tire uniformity parameters.

Method for producing a tire provided with a radiofrequency communications module

A method for manufacturing a tire (1) equipped with a communication module (20) consists in successively, and in the order required by the architecture of said tire, laying rubber products, notably profiled elements (50) and reinforcing elements on a given support in order to yield a green tire (1), then in vulcanizing the green tire to yield a tire (1), wherein, prior to laying one of the rubber profiled elements (50) on the green tire, a slot (52) is created starting from a surface of the rubber profiled element (50) and the communication module (20) is introduced into the slot (52).

TIRE READY TO RECEIVE A MEMBER ON THE SURFACE THEREOF
20170348930 · 2017-12-07 ·

A tire comprises an inner surface and/or outer surface with an accommodating region, an adhesive layer arranged on said accommodating region and a protective film arranged on said adhesive layer, characterized in that said adhesive layer is based on a block thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) comprising an elastomer block based on a diene elastomer comprising a molar content (or content by weight) of unsaturations of greater than 10%.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PLACING AND ATTACHING A STRIP INSIDE A TIRE
20170348929 · 2017-12-07 ·

The invention presents a device and a method for placing and attaching a strip inside a tire. Specifically, the tire is positioned on a mounting in relation to a centering means, and an adhesive device is placed inside the tire. While the tire is rotated, the strip is moved inside the tire, wherein a pressure force is applied to said strip. The strip is driven at a linear speed greater than the rotation speed of the tire, thus producing an effect of compressing said strip, the length of which becomes less than the nominal length thereof, thus creating a space between both ends of the strip such that, after release, the strip scrapes the adhesive device, which is repositioned on said ends, thus simultaneously causing said ends to be attached end to end.

Method for segmenting the surface of a tyre and apparatus operating according to said method

A method for segmenting the surface of a tire including at least one groove, includes: irradiating a portion of the surface of the tire by means of electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength in the visible spectrum; acquiring an image of the irradiated portion of the surface; and processing the image so as to segment it into regions corresponding to regions of the tire which do or do not belong to the at least one groove. Additionally, processing the image so as to segment it includes: calculating a statistical quantity associated with the irradiation by electromagnetic radiation for each region of the image; and determining whether the region of the image does or does not belong to the at least one groove according to the value of the statistical quantity. Equipment for segmenting a surface of a tire including at least one groove.

TIRE PROCESSING APPARATUS, TIRE REPAIRING APPARATUS, REPAIR SHEET, TIRE REPAIRING METHOD, AND TIRE MANUFACTURING METHOD

A tire repairing apparatus includes: a tire support portion rotatably supporting a pneumatic tire; and an application mechanism configured to apply an additive that has a softening effect, to a tread portion of the pneumatic tire supported by the tire support portion, thereby causing the additive to permeate into the tread portion
