Molding Compositions and Articles Made Thereof
Injection molded articles having improved scratch resistance and reduced gloss change after heat and UV aging are disclosed. The article is formed from a molding composition having a melt flow index of 50-350 g/10 (230 C., 2.16 kg) as measured by ASTM D1238-04, the composition consisting essentially of: a) 15-80 wt. % of a hydrogenated styrenic block copolymer having a melt index of at least 12 grams/10 minutes according to ASTM D1238 at 230 C. and 2.16 kg weight; b) 10-60 wt. % of a polypropylene having a melt flow index greater than 300 g/10 min, measured under 230 C./2.16 kg according to ISO 1133-1; and c) 5-25 wt. % of a thermoplastic vulcanizate having a Shore A hardness from 60-90 (15 sec, 23 C.) as measured according to ISO 868. The article has a gloss increase after 10 days of aging at 120 C. of less than 100%, relative to an initial gloss, as determined by PSA D47 1850.
Fuse molded three dimensional article and a method for making the same
A fuse molded modeling three dimensional article having areas of dissimilar or different hardness is described, wherein one of said areas is hard and is plastic, metal, glass, wood, concrete, rock, or mixtures thereof, and another of said areas is a less hard area comprising a controlled distribution hydrogenated styrenic block copolymer composition. Although the metal, glass, wood, concrete, and rock are not fuse moldable material, the plastic and the controlled distribution hydrogenated styrenic block copolymer composition are. Thus the scope of the invention is meant to include articles where only one area or layer of the article is fuse molded, or wherein both the hard area/layer and the soft area/layer is formed via a fuse molded technique.
Method of forming a three-dimensional object comprised of a silicone polymer or co-polymer
A polymerizable liquid useful for the production of a three-dimensional object comprised of silicone, or a copolymer thereof, which includes at least one constituent selected from the group consisting of (i) a blocked or reactive blocked siloxane-containing prepolymer, (ii) a blocked or reactive blocked siloxane-containing polyisocyanate, and (iii) a blocked or reactive blocked siloxane-containing polyisocyanate chain extender. Methods of using the same in additive manufacturing processes such as continuous liquid interface production are also described.
Thermoplastic polymer composition and molded article
The present invention is a thermoplastic polymer composition which contains 10-120 parts by mass of a polar group-containing polypropylene resin (B) per 100 parts by mass of a thermoplastic elastomer (A) that is a block copolymer having a polymer block containing an aromatic vinyl compound unit and a polymer block composed of a conjugated diene unit having 40% by mole or more of 1,2-bonds and 3,4-bonds in total, or a hydrogenated product of the block copolymer (provided that a thermoplastic polymer composition containing 1 part by mass or more of a polyvinyl acetal resin is excluded). This thermoplastic polymer composition is able to be bonded with a ceramic, a metal or a synthetic resin without requiring a primer treatment, and has excellent flexibility, mechanical characteristics, moldability, heat resistance and storage stability.
