GENERATING A THREE-DIMENSIONAL OBJECT

In an example, an apparatus for generating a three-dimensional object includes a build area platform, a build material distributor, a secondary material ejection device, a coalescing agent ejection device, and a controller. The controller may control the secondary material ejection device to eject a secondary material in a predefined pattern over the build area platform, control the build material distributor to distribute a layer of the build material around the ejected secondary material, control the coalescing agent ejection device to eject the coalescing agent onto the layer of the build material, and control an energy source to apply energy onto the ejected coalescing agent to cause the build material in contact with the ejected coalescing agent to coalesce and solidify.

A method is for producing an x-ray scattered radiation grid. In an embodiment of the method, a first material which absorbs x-ray radiation, is extruded through a matrix such that the x-ray scattered radiation grid with through-channels permeable to x-ray radiation is formed as an extrudate. An embodiment of the invention is advantageous in that x-ray scattered radiation grids can be produced with high precision and cost-effectively.

Devices and Methods for Attaching an Arrowhead to an Arrow Shaft

Insert-outsert devices and methods of using those devices to attach an arrowhead to an arrow shaft. The insert-outsert device can be inserted into an arrow shaft, and a threaded end of an arrowhead can be screwed through a hollow threaded portion of the outsert and into the insert. The device structurally reinforces the arrow at a region of connection between the arrow shaft and arrowhead, reducing the likelihood that the arrow shaft will buckle or break under the axial and/or bending forces exerted when an arrow strikes a target.
