The invention relates to a method for creating a surface structure on a mold, wherein first structural elements are created using a laser structuring process in a first step, and second structural elements, which are smaller than the first structural elements, are created using an anodic oxidation process in another step following the laser structuring process. The invention further relates to a mold of said type and finally to a plastic film or a plastic component having a surface structure as well as to a method for the production thereof.

Ethylene interpolymers having improved color

This disclosure relates to a continuous solution polymerization process where ethylene interpolymer products having an improved color index; for example, products having higher whiteness (Whiteness Index (WI)) and lower yellowness (Yellowness Index (YI)). Product color was improved by adjusting selected solution polymerization reaction conditions. The disclosed ethylene interpolymer products have improved color relative to comparative polyethylene compositions.

Apparatuses and methods to mold complex shapes

Methods and apparatuses are disclosed to mold complex shapes using a cast mold technique. A catalyst-initiated urethane can be used for these complex shapes as there is little thickness restriction on any part dimension. Moreover, urethane, once chemically activated, can be poured into cast molds with various shapes. Due to the exothermic nature of urethane, when the curing chemical reaction takes place, metal molds can be fabricated from aluminum. Cast molds, made from aluminum, utilize elastomeric seals to account for coefficients of thermal expansion.

Method for producing a shaped bar from fiber composite material

A method for producing a shaped bar from fiber composite material uses a bonding tool which has a heating-up portion. The method includes the steps that a number of fiber tapes provided with a thermoplastic matrix are fed in parallel to the bonding tool, are brought together and heated and bonded in the heating-up portion to form a fiber cord. The fiber cord is subsequently placed by the bonding tool directly into a processing tool or a depositing device designed to place the fiber cord into the processing tool.

The present invention relates to a mold bottom extending about a central axis and comprising a molding wall made as a single piece and defining a molding surface; a cavity formed inside the molding wall, and having a central area, a peripheral area, and a middle area; a central pipe supplying the cavity with heat-transfer fluid, that opens in the central area via one or more central openings; and at least one pipe for discharging the heat-transfer fluid from the cavity, into which the peripheral area opens. According to the invention, the mold bottom comprises a bypass that brings the central pipe into direct communication with the middle area of the cavity by bypassing the central area.

ROTARY IMPULSE SEALER
20210178704 · 2021-06-17 ·

A rotary impulse sealer for forming a series of discrete bonds in a bondable material. The rotary impulse sealer has a roller rotatable about an axis. The roller has a roller body and a plurality of seal bars extending radially outwardly from the roller and spaced apart around the roller body. At least one of the seal bars has a body and a selectively heatable heating element extending along at least a part of a length of the seal bar body. The roller is rotatable through a pre-heating pressure application region in which the at least one seal bar is adapted to apply pressure to a bond area of the bondable material, followed by a heating region in which the at least one seal bar is adapted to heat the bond area, the regions being stationary with respect to the rotation of the roller. A method of forming packages containing fluid or fluent material includes continuously providing at least two sheets of bondable material having a fluid or fluent material therebetween, applying pressure to a transverse bond area of the bondable material to force the fluid or fluent material away from the transverse bond area, and heating the transverse bond area to form a seal.
