Use of recycled packaging in polymer composite products
A polymer composite and its method of manufacture using a recycled multilayer material. An example of the recycled multilayer material is comprised of a polyethylene/polyethylene terephthalate/aluminum film that may be extruded with organic filler to obtain desirable performance in wood-substitute products such as deck boards, railing, fencing, pergolas, residential cladding/siding, sheet products, and other applications.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A LIGHTWEIGHT LAMINATE
A method of producing a laminated article comprising placing a first metal skin, a core, and a second metal skin freely onto each other as discreet layers to provide a layered component; and forming the layered component into a shaped article via a die prior to producing a laminated article by applying pressure and heat to the shaped article, wherein at least the first skin moves relative to the core and/or second skin during the forming.
METHOD OF FORMING A REUSABLE SURGICAL IMPLEMENT
A reusable surgical implement is provided that is formed of a core positioned within an enclosure. The core is formed of a suitable rigid, and optionally flexible material to enable the implant to conform to the desired use for the implement in a surgical procedure. The material forming the enclosure is also stretchable and flexible to accommodate the configuration and/or any flexing of the core, and is biologically inert to enable the implant to be sterilized after use for use in subsequent surgical procedures while protecting the material forming the core. The enclosure can be molded around the core in separate portions or components using multiple molding steps to form an enclosure with the desired attributes.
Gate-all-around fin device
A gate-all around fin double diffused metal oxide semiconductor (DMOS) devices and methods of manufacture are disclosed. The method includes forming a plurality of fin structures from a substrate. The method further includes forming a well of a first conductivity type and a second conductivity type within the substrate and corresponding fin structures of the plurality of fin structures. The method further includes forming a source contact on an exposed portion of a first fin structure. The method further comprises forming drain contacts on exposed portions of adjacent fin structures to the first fin structure. The method further includes forming a gate structure in a dielectric fill material about the first fin structure and extending over the well of the first conductivity type.
Flexible polymer-based material for hot isostatic pressing or warm isostatic pressing molds
There is disclosed a sealable, flexible membrane for encapsulating a part to be isostatically pressed at an elevated temperature. The membrane includes at least one first layer of polymeric film having a melting point above the elevated temperature, and at least one second layer disposed on the first layer. The second layer comprising a metal. In one embodiment, the metal comes into contact with the part to be isostatically pressed. The membrane, which typically has a thickness ranging from 10 to about 500 m, and is impermeable to the flow of liquids and gases when sealed, can be used to warm press parts up to about 350 C. and pressures ranging from 5,000 psi to 100,000 psi. Methods to isostatically press parts using this sealable, flexible membrane are also disclosed. Bags made from the sealable, flexible membrane that are used in isostatic presses are also disclosed.
Secondary battery metal terminal coating resin film, method for manufacturing same and battery pack
A secondary battery metal terminal coating resin film having improved overall performance and capable of securing filling ability, adhesive properties, insulating properties of a lead end portion and shape retention properties of a sealant, a manufacturing method for the same and a battery pack using the secondary battery metal terminal coating resin film in provided in the lead end portion of a tab used for a laminate-type packaging material for a secondary battery. The secondary battery metal terminal coating resin film (24) according to the present invention is laminated, coating metal terminal (26) connected to a positive electrode or a negative electrode of a secondary battery. The melt flow rate of at least one layer of a resin that constitutes the resin film (24) is within a range from about 0.1 g/10 minutes to about 2.5 g/10 minutes.
Helical layer structure and manufacturing method of helical layer structure
Embodiments provide a helical layer structure including: a helical core member which is formed of a flexible, lengthy, flat plate-like core member and which is formed of a steel plate made of a metal material, such as iron; and a polymeric coating layer which is formed of a polymeric material such as a thermosetting elastic material or a thermoplastic elastic material, and which coats the helical core member. The manufacturing method of the helical layer structure includes: a feeding step of feeding a core member having flexibility; a supply step of supplying the polymeric material having fluidity; a coating step of coating the core member with the polymeric material; a cooling step of cooling a coated intermediate which is coated with the polymeric material; and a helix formation step of helically twisting the coated intermediate to form the helical layer structure.
MULTILAYERED ANISOTROPIC MICROPARTICLES
A method of forming multilayer polymer composite particles includes coextruding a multilayer polymer composite sheet having alternating first and second polymer layers. The multilayer polymer composite sheet is divided into a plurality of anisotropic multilayer polymer composite microparticles.
Elastomeric gasket for fuel access door of an aircraft wing and a method for making the same
An assembly for use on an aircraft wing having an aircraft skin and a fuel tank, the assembly comprising a metal access door for accessing the fuel tank, a metal retainer ring for engaging the wing and the access door. Fasteners removably couple the access door to the retainer ring. A lip, which may be on the wing surface, is configured to receive a perimeter of the access door when the access door is coupled to the retainer ring. A polyurethane elastomeric gel gasket having a metallic skeleton is configured to lay between the access door and a lip of the metal wing surface. Under compression, the polyurethane will deform and squeeze out the edges and flatten so as to provide metal-to-metal contact between the access door and the lip.
