Blow molded resin furniture having a stabilizing box structure
The invention involves a system and method for constructing lawn furniture. The system includes box type beam members as well as a large box structure supported above a ground surface. The box structure provides rigidity and stability to the furniture while also functioning as storage space. The components are formed to ship in a dissembled compact state and snap together with minimal use of fasteners and tools.
Method for manufacturing molded article and device for manufacturing molded article
[Problem] The present invention relates to a manufacturing method for obtaining a molded article having an expanded layer in the molded article, wherein an expanding agent and device used to manufacture a resin having expansion properties, and a means for increasing expansion ratio are provided. [Solution] In the present invention, an expanding agent placed in a heating cylinder of a molding machine is configured as a liquid, the volume of the expanding agent is controlled, and the expanding agent is injected into a molten resin in the heating cylinder of the molding machine. The volume of the injected expanding agent can thereby be accurately measured each time. When a low-boiling liquid such as water, an alcohol, or an ether is used as the injected expanding agent, all of the liquid is vaporized by the temperature of the heating cylinder of the molding machine, and no residue thereof is therefore left in the molded article. When sodium bicarbonate water is used as the injected expanding agent, solvent water vaporizes and water vapor also becomes expandable gas, which is less expensive than using sodium bicarbonate as the expanding agent for a master batch using the resin that is to be molded.
BLOW-MOLDED RIB STRUCTURE
A blow-molded structural panel has a stiffening rib structure in which the height and width of the rib structure varies over its length. For example, the rib structure may have three tall portions separated by two short portions, with a gradual slope in height between the various portions. The rib structure is preferably wider in the short portions than it is in the tall portions. The lower height of the rib structure in some portions enhances the stiffness of the panel, while also using less material because the plastic does not have to be drawn so deeply into the mold in the short portions.
Embossed and hot-melt laminated multilayer composite film
A multi-layered composite film is provided that includes immediately consecutive and mutually bonded layers A-B-C: A: on the visible side, a polymer layer comprising 1 to 100% by weight of extrudable thermoplastic polyurethane-containing polymer and/or ionomer; B: a tie layer comprising one or more modified plastics for the tie; C: on the substrate side, a decorative layer;
wherein the layered composite is coextruded from the layers A and B and hot-melt laminated with the decorative substrate layer at a temperature above the fusion temperature of the layered composite, while simultaneously pattern(s) is/are plastically embossed on the visible side of the multi-layered composite film. The multi-layered composite films may be used as a floor covering, wall panelling or furniture film. A method for manufacturing the multi-layered composite films is also provided.
ADDITIVE PRODUCTION OF A THREE-DIMENSIONAL COMPONENT COMPRISING AN ENVELOPING ELEMENT AND A FILLER MATERIAL
The invention relates to a method for the production of a component, comprising the steps of: creating at least one portion of an enveloping element (10) of the component by means of an additive method, and introducing a filler material (20), which is in particular foamable or at least partially foamed, into the portion of the enveloping element (10).
Edge strip
The invention relates to an edge strip, especially for panels of pieces of furniture, comprising a hot-melt layer which consists of at least one easy-flow polyolefin and the rheological behavior of which can be controlled by means of the melt flow rates of the polyolefins used in hot-melt layer. The invention further relates to a method for producing an edge strip of said type as well as to a panel for pieces of furniture that is connected to an edge strip of said type.
EDGE TRIM FOR PIECES OF FURNITURE
An edge trim for pieces of furniture, including a meltable layer, is described. The molecular structure of the meltable layer contains both polar and non-polar parts. By way of a non-limiting example, an edge trim for pieces of furniture having an exposed edge of wooden or wood substitute material is described, comprising a molten layer and a structural layer, wherein the structural layer and the molten layer are connected in an adhesive bond, wherein the molten layer is made of a material that is chemically modified such that polar and non-polar components are found in a single molecular structure, wherein the molten layer contains energy absorbing additives, wherein the energy absorbing additives of the molten layer are selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, metal phosphates, metal salts of organic anions and combinations thereof.
Method for Producing an Edge Profile and Furniture Component
The invention relates to a method for producing an edge profile for a narrow surface of a plate-shaped material, wherein an edge band extending in a longitudinal direction has a decoration, and wherein the edge band has a three-dimensional structure. In order to further improve a furniture part with regard to optical and haptic properties, the decoration and the structure according to the invention are arranged in such a way that the structure is at least substantially congruent with the decoration. The invention further relates to a corresponding furniture part having a plate-shaped material, which has at least one narrow surface, an upper part, and a lower part, and at least one edge profile.
Method of fastening an object to a construction element
A method of fastening an edge structure to a construction element includes providing the construction element, being a planar structure with two cover regions and a middle region between the cover regions; providing the edge structure being continuously extended, the edge structure having contact surfaces with a thermoplastic material shaped to lie against the cover regions in an outer surface of the construction element, and, opposite the contact surfaces, a coupling-in surface for coupling energy into the edge structure; coupling energy into the edge structure and pressing the contact surfaces against the cover regions until at least a portion of the thermoplastic material is liquefied and pressed into the cover regions; and repeating or continuing the steps of coupling and pressing until the edge structure is attached to the building element at a plurality of discrete locations or over an extended region along an edge of the construction element.
