20200180251 · 2020-06-11 · ·

A press assembly includes an elongated guide, and a ram that is at least partially mounted to the elongated guide and axially movable relative to the elongated guide. A fabricating tool is disposed at an outboard end portion of the ram. The ram including an internal chamber. A cylinder is disposed within an internal chamber of the ram and is secured to the ram such that the cylinder is fixed relative to the ram axially and rotationally so that the cylinder and ram move in unison. A spindle having a driving end region and a driven end region opposite the driving end region is disposed at least partially within a cylindrical bore of the cylinder. A motor is adapted to rotate the driving end region of the spindle to effect an axial displacement of the cylinder and the ram.

PRESS WITH SPINDLE DRIVE

LINEAR ACTUATED PRESS
20200147915 · 2020-05-14 ·

A mechanical press is provided that utilizes linear actuation driven by an electric power source and two opposing horizontal platform mounted press plates, an upper fixed plate and a lower traveling plate arranged vertically and tracked via vertical track posts to press resin, oils, extracts, or compounds from a raw plant material. The press plates are heated during press operation and function to heat and melt the desired plant products and the force from the press plates squeezes the melted materials out of the plant and onto a parchment paper or into a melt groove to flow to a collection tray.

METHOD FOR CALIBRATING ELECTRIC PRESS

Disclosed herein are an electric press and a method for calibrating the electric press, which can implement a rapid calibration operation. An electric press (10) includes a ram location information storage unit (63) and a load control unit (64). The ram location information storage unit (63) stores ram location information, corresponding to actual load values and representing locations to which a ram is moved, in advance. The load control unit (64) applies an actual load, corresponding to at least one location which belongs to the locations represented by the ram location information and to which the ram is moved, to a compression target by moving the ram to the location. Accordingly, the load value output by the detection unit is calibrated based on the actual load value applied to the compression target.

A punch and die holding apparatus comprising a die block having a bottom die plate defining a die recess and forming a die clamp, a top die plate defining a guide tube cavity, the bottom die plate and top die plate defining a punch receiving gap, a die plate clamping bolt, and a plurality of gap opening stops. The punch and die holding apparatus has a punch holder having a guide tube, a collet chuck at least partially inserted within the guide tube, a collet inserted within the collet chuck, and a punch having a first end comprising a stem, a second end comprising a punch protrusion, and a central portion, the punch stem configured to be inserted into the second end of the collet; and a die received within the die recess.

Tamping punch station and method of filling capsules in a tamping punch station

A tamping punch station for filling capsules in a capsule filling machine is described. The machine includes a rotatably drivable dosing disk with bore holes and a filling device for filling the bore holes. Tamping punches and ejection punches are held on a punch support, and vertical movement of the punch support causes the tamping punches to press filling material into the bore holes and the ejection punches to eject pellets created by the tamping punches in the bore holes. A first drive rotates the dosing disk along punches and a second drive moves the punch support. The second drive includes at least two spindle drives acting on the punch support with respectively one spindle nut and respectively one vertical drive spindle guided in the spindle nut and at least two drive motors, which drive respectively one of the spindle drives for vertical movement of the punch support.
